Let's talk about Aerial

For those who missed it (and I know I had to dig through the threads to find it), Aerial is the next Heroic theme.

Would like there to be a good conversation about best teams within the affiliation but it’s so broad I think it’ll be a short list of teams we all already are familiar with.

Also in need of addressing, maybe my comics knowledge isn’t as great as I thought it was but there seem to be some questionable inclusions: Electro? Dazzler? America Chavez? Apocalypse? Anti-Venom? Hydra-Stomper? Loki? Mephisto? The Hood?

I also feel like some of them are listed as aerial because they can ride on a flying vehicle/horse (looking at you Valkyrie). If that’s the criteria should it be every character except Mr T because they could all theoretically board a plane?

Electro? Dazzler? America Chavez? Apocalypse? Anti-Venom? Hydra-Stomper? Loki? Mephisto? The Hood?

Electro uses electric powers to levitate and fly quite regularly

Dazzler can levitate and rudimentary flight through side-applications of her powers

America Chavez can propel herself through the air at superhuman speeds, and is even able to fly and survive unaided in the vacuum of space

Anti-Venom can sproat draconic wings and has true flight.

Apocalypse uses telekinesis to fly and levitate

Hydra-Stomper like all Iron Man-suits has jets

Loki is a god and can fly (magical, like Agatha, Strange, Wiccan, Clea..)

Mephisto has flight

Hood has levitation and flight from his cloak.

They did their research well. They even added Colossus because the Phx 5 version has flight from being a phoenix.

Guessing in most cases they’re abilities that were gained later. Apocalypse is maybe more in the “I guess he can do anything he wants but he’s not really associated with flying” category.

Also Sunspot. I know the X-Men 97 version flies but, from the comics I remember, he never could. I guess it would have made Cannonball somewhat redundant if Sunspot could fly so maybe he picked up the ability once they stopped being on the same team? Bit like how Jean Grey couldn’t fly until after Angel left the team.

I haven’t been able yet to find a single example of Apocalypse flying under his own devices but I guess we can be cheaty with this:

Hydra Stomper flying:

Loki flying (extra Apocalypse still not flying)

Dazzler maybe flying (looks a bit dubious to me)

The Hood floating I guess?

Mephisto is another one like Apocalypse that I can’t actually find any examples of flying but he must be able to, right?

Electro flies in the film and Spidey game and I am sure I have seen him levitate in a comic book at least.

Also im not just talking about mcu mysterio but him as a comic character

Not in his power set according to Marvel Wiki.

But he can create the illusion of flying. So depends on a Wisdom Save.

I’m not sure why there was ever a question about Agatha. The Marvel TV version is shown flying and as for the comic book version - she is a witch, why would she not have a broomstick?

MCU version presumably yes? Been a while since I saw the film though.

Comics version, I’d say no.

Also thinking there are characters who could have flying but don’t. If Valkyrie’s horse qualifies her, doesn’t Ant-Man’s flying ants qualify him?

Ive always maintained that mysterio can fly. He may use trickery but as a character he can and does fly.

As for MCU Mysterio - he uses drones to create illusions but never actually leaves the ground.
