Its a plot to ruin everything you hold dear about life.
Mine was closer to 10 minutes late showing up. I started thinking they weren’t running LRs in the offseason. So not a conspiracy I think, but you were not the only one to see a late start.
I was surprised to find that I received seed teams despite checking in 10 minutes late - a happy accident!
I was having the same thought and bummed because I could use the ISO to champion Widow.
Sometimes I’ve had to close and re-open app to get events to show up after having the game open for a long time.
I was in every LR today within seconds of it opening right on the hour (Steam/PC).
I used to have crashes or have the events not show up (depending on build) - I always quickly switch from versus to events to versus tabs and then enter the LR, that gets the event showing and count-down gone if it’s still there.
I tried that plus a restart after 5 minutes which didn’t work. Then maybe 5 minutes after all that it finally showed up, but of course I got no seed teams 
I, too, have played all the LRs today, and all started on time for me. I play on Android mobile.
