Genuine Inquiry - Why is Lyra Dawnbringer not an Angel Leader? Seriously, she is the literal leader of the angels on Dominaria.
Also wish there was a Knight leader but that’s a different situation. There is an actual story based leader of Angels in Dominaria and you didn’t make her a Leader.
Good question regarding Lyra - however, how many ways can we get angel tokens in standard out side of a certain support from origins?
As for a knight leader, there is one IIRC… you will have to take a look at the tokens introduced in this set carefully.
To the first point, there’s only one more way of creating Goblin tokens in Standard than there is Angels, and that’s with a rare from this set. Yet we still got Squee, the Useless.
And to the second, nope. Only Slimefoot for Saprolings and Squee for Goblins as leaders. No other leader types.

Oh wow, so there is. I checked every saga for tokens to see if there was a leader from there but completely skipped over Josu.
Yup. Easy to miss, almost took me off guard as well. Considering that it works with both knights and zombies, we might see some interesting Sorin decks that are not vampire themed!
Probably would have been too powerful to have a creature that’s already first strike and lifelink to then also get +7/+7 every time you make an angel token.

If there was more than a single angel token generator, I would agree
As it is, there is only the one with 2 shields, that requires support spam and as she can’t block unless you give her a form of blocking yourself, she could be just as easily removed as any other big stick that gets bigger semi-quickly (Hi there Ghalta).
But if its that hard to use leader on her, why is it a big deal if she has leader or not? Seems like a lot of extra work for a story flavor and not much else.
It’s not a big deal. It just makes no sense thematically. It wouldn’t have even required much effort to apply the Leader code to her.
It would certainly be interesting running an angel themed deck with Sigil of the Empty Throne to keep boosting Lyra as you go.
Where is Lyra available? I must be missing something totally obvious. Is she in the vault somewhere as part of a package?
