Marvel Games Panel (Comic Con Sat.)

  1. Spidey nerf.

  2. True healing nerf.

  3. Timing nerf. First 5 minutes of MPQ play is free every day. Each additional minute costs 1,000 Iso. For 500 HP, you play unlimited in for 24 hours.

In all seriousness, 3 character announcements and a new pve chapter.

I can’t imagine playing MPQ using gamepads or Kinect.

I played it that way a little bit before they disabled it on the steam version. it wasn’t THAT bad

True.

Ok I told a lie. I used to play the hell out of Puzzle Quest on my PSP, so it can be done. I was thinking when it’s time sensitive like shield-hopping or trying to clear that final round of nodes in PvE during T-30m.

Dev ElectroBlast is on the forum, maybe he’s posting something. Or maybe he’s reading insightful posts and suggestions.

Maybe he’s about to post what was in the in-game update just pushed out.

Playing Minecraft with a gamepad isn’t the ideal way to play the game, yet millions have (and still do).

50% discount on in-app-purchases!

or they shutting down the game.

Be happy with either thing happening.

I’ll guess…

… new character teases/outlines

… new token/character purchasing options

… new PvP modes, such as Balance of Power

… that they figured out how to implement true Boss encounters into PvE (once upon a time, they teased trying to make a Sentinel boss fight work)

… implementation of a story “season-like” PvE mode, where the global actions of the community influence the “general” direction of the story (example: if goal score X or boss Y is defeated by the community before time Z, then open Path 1 nodes for play over the next week; else open Path 2 nodes for play for that week)

They will announce MPQ as best game ever cause theyve reached MYTHICAL 1$ ARPDAU! So they decide theres no sense to make any significant changes, repair bugs etc cause dumb peoples are spending tons of money anyway.

I really can’t imagine the game (literal carbon copy) on home consoles as I doubt they’re going to drop timed events, hence that’s why portable devices such as phones works well, boot up the game (app) anytime you want with a few taps. Plus that’s (IMO) hardly exciting news.

Been thinking about this a little more and I think it’s likely to focus on a couple of main areas.

Character levelling - I think there is going to be an updated system as to how characters are levelled. People are just finding too many issues and problems, eg. you spend money on a cover and then character gets nerfed. I can’t quite pick its exact form, but could involve features such as the move to a “points allocation” type system, where if you spend something somewhere, it can be moved around; allowing characters to change cover level between games; some sort of integrated refund system, etc. I mean… following all the balance changes we have coming up (ModStorm, ModHawkeye, Dakens, Magneto/s, not even bothering mentioning X-FWolv), do you really think Patch and his instant heal isn’t eventually going to get it?? This allows them to nerf / change whoever they want in whatever way they want and they can follow up with, “but hey, it’s ok, you can just adjust your ABC / XYZ” and you then move points or whatever to other characters and/or get some sort of game currency back. This may be related to why we haven’t seen the backlog of long-promised character changes.

More alliance stuff - Could be a number of things such as the way points are gained, battles of an overall boss or inter-alliance (but can’t forget those not in alliance or top alliance). Those who are suggesting cover trading, it’s not going to happen - devs already ruled it out a number of times due to possibility of abuse. If there was a non-abusive way of it happening, that would be cool. A side issue that I would suspect might come up is the rich getting richer concept - the top x alliances / players are usually and consistently getting the highest sets of rewards every time. Smaller alliances are never going to get the good stuff. I am curious if the devs would want to adjust this a little (season alliance rubberbanding anyone? hahaha), so I wouldn’t be surprised to see some modest changes but of course there may not be anything.

Seasons - This could have little change or large. Could be moved to a more individually focused thing or a change in how points are gained by alliances or other. Lot of possibilities here, mentioned in numerous other threads. Not for here.

I’d like to say there is something like a HQ / Base model on the way, but that seems like a whole other new thing, when a lot of current stuff needs work already. Having said that now, we’ll likely see it.

I also don’t think we’ll see much about new characters - we know there is another X-person coming and some variation of Norman Osborrn - so maybe a few new silhouettes. Alongside this, I would hope to see existing characters done properly first. No wait, again, who am I kidding here…

What I would really love to see is a complete character overhaul (variations of which I have looked at in my reclassification models), but unfortunately, I don’t think it’s going to happen.

What time is the panel?

Looking at the schedule it looks like the panel starts at 12:30 PST, so we have about 5 hours still. Will anyone be attending and be able to update forumgoers?

I was hoping they’d spoil whatever announcements they have to us loyal forum-goers beforehand, but yes, anyone going to be there?

Marvel live feed: http://marvel.com/sdcc2014#0-980232

Looks like they’re going to be part of a very large panel on Marvel games. Don’t care about the rest of the games, but want to hear the announcement!

FYI, found a link for live video: http://marvel.com/sdcc2014#0-980232 . Will probably post in general thread as a new topic as well.

I’d like to link my account to G+ and use that instead of Facebook for cross device play (don’t have/want FB)

So did anyone watch the live steam?

12:30 PDT. 50 minutes.
