Marvel Puzzle Quest Developer Q&A September 2022 Answers (9/28/22)

I suppose I should have phrased that better in the question then. To me this is the same phenomenon of an additional full fledged PVE alongside other full fledged story content. Puzzle Gauntlet is effectively untimed, but alliance events are super timed with the 8hr refresh.

But you can play ANY time during that 8 hours. And technically you don’t even need to play every individual segment and yet can still easily beat the boss. How often do you beat the boss a day or 1.5 days early? I wouldn’t call that timed, personally. But I do get your point.

I still don’t get all the hooplah about having to do a PVE same time as a boss event. Adding it in means players can still play the same daily routine with the event that they always do and then just come back on and do the boss event when they can like they normally would. Sure it means you’re having to play a little bit more during that time but it shouldn’t change your daily routine playing as the boss event itself would upset your daily routine with it’s different timings for new missions anyway, but people still make it work for the rewards. I think complaining about “having” to play a PVE same time as boss event is a little silly.

On my cell I turn on the panel by panel mode. It works pretty well on most newer comics (ie 2000s and above). Looks great on ipad/tablet. Don’t know when you were using it, but the app used to be soooo bad It’s gotten better. There’s some things I prefer in the old app (everything needs an icon, they can’t just give us a list of titles…), but overall the app is better now.

eek, I did it again. :frowning: Fixed

I have a largely junior alliance, we have only ever hit full alliance progression one time, on Sinister Six. I usually hit personal progression on the penultimate refresh on sunday because we rarely get out of round 6 or 7. I’m just saying I find it a drag, if y’all like it you’re allowed to like it.

Given boss events rewards thanks to new BCS, I would think carefully (well, maybe not) on searching a new alliance, then everyone can play at their own rithm.
But I doubt your rithm is to play more than necessary and to win less rewards.

If players like me aren’t running junior friendly, low pressure alliances, how long term healthy for the game do you think that would be I wonder? I’m F2P, but I feel this is a give-back to keep new players engaged and bootstrap them up to higher level play.

Oh, that’s honorable and romantic!
I doubt that the insight you are gonna provide to 19 guys will heal the game.
But I love samurai ideals, so you won my like.

You ever change your mind hit me up. I run in tandem with my boss buddy @turbomoose a low pressure, junior friendly Alliance and we have a pretty decent record of beating Round 8 (not always but should be no issue with SS6) - no playing requirements as such although we do encourage on Boss Events.

Sorry, I can’t believe everyone ignoring this: MMR UPDATES?!?

I most definitely didn’t ignore that. I’ve brought it up with alliance-mates who practice soft-capping. It might have serious implications for them.

What is the problem with soft capppimg and what is the presnt mmr update can u elaborate

Soft-capping works based on the MMR that has been in place. Any changes to MMR might change the tested limits of ~350 (when I was doing it I ran 360, but I’d follow those doing it now).

It seems likely that changes to MMR would be intended to target/match peers better, qua peers, not to threaten the positions of of those trying to hide from wolves. But unintended consequences always bloom following tweaks to fundamental structures constituent to complex systems.
