Black/Purple/Green (or Purple/Green/Black) is another colour combo that’s been missing from the 4* tier, after this, the only combination unrepresented will be Yellow/Purple/Green (and you thought we were already drowning in Purple/Green users).
I think the passive is probably fine, since you’re already going to be matching 2/3 possible colours anyway. And it’s reactive passive special tile generation, so it’s in effect right from turn 1. I’m also assuming that it’s going to associate Attack/Protect/Strike with Black/Purple/Green (maybe in that order?), but as long as they’re even moderately strong I don’t think there’s a problem. Luke Cage is proof that we’re all actually OK with protect tiles as long as they’re free, and this isn’t limited to only creating 1.
At 12 AP, that Green power is expensive. If it’s going to target a random enemy, it needs to deal a lot of damage.
The Black ability doesn’t really sound like a black ability (unless the drawback is that you heal instead of create special tiles). Is is true healing or fake healing? If it’s true healing it’s worth noting that because the heal is a part of the ability and not a passive, it will still resolve if you use this to kill the last enemy standing.
At least there’s no internal “counter-synergy” going on, but it’s hard to gauge what sort of team this character is meant to be a part of. At a glance, I think it’s going to end up in the lower half of 4* characters unless it’s got some big numbers on those abilities.
This green power needs to be really crazy good, for 12 having a random power is not very useful (killing Phoenix when she is still not the last char? yeah why not, attacking any other char instead of Xpool or Thing? yeah I would like that too
). Maybe it will be useful just as a finisher…
After reading this, I am not very impressed. Numbers can change everything (and I can see green doing 15k, or 30k when buffed) but for now mid-low tier.
Just another 4
that will sit with 1 or 2 covers for the next 6 months while I try to build the ones I all ready have. Sorry D3, new releases should be exciting but when you keep pushing them out this fast you kill the mood.
My guess is either Moon Knight or someone that uses Chaos Magic in the marvel realm. I think marvel should be gearing up to release more of our supernatural heroes/villians, since we will more than likely get Doctor Strange this fall. i would hope this is not a variant of anyone, but who knows they like using the same character over and over for whatever reason. Maybe someone from Squadron Supreme or an Inhuman since they are chuck full on the comics coming out right now.
It’s time to take a look at what’s planned for the next Marvel Puzzle Quest update.
(As always, anything listed below is subject to change before release)
R103!
A hero reimagined…
R103 path updates confuse me even more. Does this mean the hero is already present in MPQ
If I were a betting man I’d wager the drawback is those special tiles are enemy ones…since you know they tend to leave fairly important things out of these previews all the time.
its like a bad rash. scratch at it some and it spreads. we’ve had limited rng in abilities (witch purple, drock green, etc) but we knew the damage to each target. now we have to either save this green until 1 or 2 are left or live with whoever it decides to hit. that’s horrible with the (as others have mentioned) phoenixes, xpools, and things of the mpq world. and will colossus or 3pool interact correctly with this.
I’m guessing youthful Loki - either Young Avengers or Agent of Asgard; possibly he is both them + 1 more version of Loki (lady Loki?), and the “start of battle” effect switches between them.
E.g. Younger Avengers Loki = Protect tiles (sort of nurturing), Agent of Asgard = Strike tiles (heroic-ish) & the 3rd incarnation = Attack tiles (a bit more scheming/villainous).
