I’ve always used Deadpool/Hood with Grocket. Rainbow coverage, no overlapping active abilities, passives in 3 different colors and Hood black accelerates Grocket blue. Just wish Deadpool was still boosted.
After losing hundreds of points in Bullseye event, but getting pretty high progression, would it make sense in this event to get as high as possible progression then let my points fall?
I guess the best way to do this would be to play early so folks aren’t scrambling for pts and to beat me?
I haven’t find one that really suits me yet. But with Hulk buffed, you might want to take one character who can stun the enemy’s Hulk at least!
Beside, when I use my Hulk, I use many health packs in the end too…
Was going to try to get to 800+ points but there’s just so many high hp powered up people(namely hulk and rocket/groot) they either take too many health packs to chew through or they’ll one-shot my true-healers(damnit why didn’t true healers get HP buff…).
Might try again tomorrow when there’s more people actually playing, maybe some non-brickhouse teams will be in play…
The hard thing about taking another run at it later is, if my current experience holds, you’ll essentially be starting over, based on how incredibly high the defense loss point totals are.
Someone explain to me how I’m fighting matches at -20, winning defenses at -10, and yet losing defenses at up to 30+?
You know what, never mind, don’t try to explain it.
Where are you in the rankings and what’s the points gap between you and top 10?
I feel you need to time your runs so there are enough people above you to get meaningful points. If that means you have to take a short break while the leaderboard shuffles then it’s better to do that. When you’re higher up your choices are less/more dangerous and you are one of the main attractions
This is partly why late runs can be good, the board is set so you climb with plenty of people above you. In the last hour it starts to get difficult as all the big grinders are out in force trying to get those last few points hence there are hits left right and centre.
If it’s progression you want then your run needs to end about 1hr - 30 minutes before the end or earlier if the leaderboard is very mature.
The other thing is to find which level is safe for you to “park” and where you start getting hit like a shooting gallery. If i’m playing earlier (i.e 5 hrs before the end) i get to about 400 and park. In the last 2 hours or so the health packs have refreshed and i’ll play for progression and leave rankings down to whatever combination of factors seem to be going (bracket, cover, slice etc)
I second this combo. DP/RoGro/Hood is an awesome team and a whole lot of fun to play. With hood in back, DP tanks black and RoGro tanks yellow. Two big nukes and AP steal.
Woke up this morning, and as I predicted, I’m back below where I started yesterday when I opened the event.
Was hoping to have dropped some, but hopefully make some of the fall up to possibly hit 800, but many, many multiple losses, each worth more than I was able to gain all day yesterday, totaling, well, a lot, aaand…
I’m out.
Loving the continuing “fun-balancing,” making sure we’re all aware of how much better this game gets if we continuously spend money.
all fair points, I guess…PVP has changed so much I’m just pretty ‘meh’ about the whole thing. I just learned the system and powered up weeklies + double points means I gotta learn it all over again…
Just wish I could get 800-1000 points and never look back
oh yeah, it was especially fun to learn that my level 166 characters(namely patch/daken) weren’t scary anymore since even 2* players can hit level 150. Grumble
EDIT: so I waited and I’m #300th with about an hour to go, yet I can’t find many non-Hulk matches. I think I’m just going to wait until Hulk isn’t powered up. Annoying.
As it stands, if I play, I’ve got a shot at a 2* Daken. If I don’t, I’ll receive 2 Standard Tokens, which could at least theoretically give me something useful…
Apart from the first time ever I’m hitting 1000pts, I’m liking the new PvP changes because it forces you to look at new combos. With my DP/RoGro/Hood team I attracted a number of fights from 500-800pts but surprisingly the majority were defensive wins as I think a lot of people under estimated the team. Sometimes the boosted characters help with interesting and good synergy (e.g. Deadpool for CapMarvel PvP or Blade for Shulk PvP), sometimes they don’t (like this PvP).
Beefed up Hulk is annoying for hops but otherwise not that scary if you’ve got a good 120-166 team. Just whittle hulk down with battle damage, put others in front once battle damage procs Anger, save all your nukes and AoE for one big Hulk dump. 9/10 works well, especially if you deny green so that you don’t get mighty cascades if Anger goes off.
That’s fair enough if you are doing PvE as well as PvP. Boosted Hulk is always going to be groan inducing no matter what, I was just highlighting that there are tactics for dealing with him that don’t rely on Patch/Daken. I understand that for some people the PvP changes don’t suit their style of play and may have made the experience worse for them.
