It’s time for our third MPQ Dev Update of the year and after previously discussing how we’ve shifted our resources into steering the Unity Engine update to the finish line, we’re excited to reveal that the finish line is nearly in sight!
As of this blog, we’re conducting a Unity beta test with a select group of players from a wide variety of devices on all four supported platforms (iOS, Android, PC Steam, and Amazon Kindle Devices). The main goal of this test is not only to ensure build stability, but also to make sure that when the game engine transition does happen, player accounts will seamlessly integrate into the new engine with no major hiccups.
If all goes well with the beta, expect to have Unity rolled out platform by platform starting with PC Steam and Amazon. We’ll then push the builds out to mobile since those are the platforms that have the largest playerbase.
Huge thank you to the players who are hard at work helping us test out this brand new build! Once the beta dust has cleared, we’ll be releasing an updated Roadmap blog that will peek into what a post-Unity MPQ development cycle looks like so stay tuned for that exciting blog in the near future!
Animal variations of all characters or I, for one, will riot.
But not like the Howard the duck one I was met with on log on today. He will haunt my nightmares
It should not have gone out and doesn’t seem to be a widespread issue. IF you get a prompt, please DO NOT update, but also shoot me a DM with your account info so we can investigate further.
You guys have been a bit leaky recently what with this and Sidewinder going out unintended- hope the full roll out of operation “MPQ everything” fares better.

Did Amazon get pushed out? Or am I just getting the Facebook login bug on my Kindle Fire? Samsung is working fine.

Will there be any app updates/revisions before the new engine release? Amazon users got an R324 release which was the new engine version or something - and broke things for them. So I’m wondering if the plan is to not do any more updates between now and a finalized new engine release. Or if there will be updates, just maybe more slowly, as work proceeds on the version with the new engine.
It’s completely possible they require another update on the old engine just to make things work with the new one. I would sincerely hope it is much more carefully rolled out than the Amazon one though .
