also someone in my alliance said the steam version doesn’t have that same splash screen. looking forward to it. I hope he has come cool/unique powers and not just “destroy 8 tiles, do some damage”
I’m unfamiliar with Doc Ock of the last 20 years or so. Is he really a good guy at heart? Is the Marvel Now version a good guy?
Quicksilver, Gambit, Bishop, Namor, all of the Guardians of the Galaxy, Ghost Rider, and Silver Samurai all seem to fit that description. If “good guy” just means hero rather than male hero, you can add Emma Frost, Mystique, Elektra, Black Cat. Or maybe a 3* Venom, anti-hero era.
I haven’t read it, but Doc Ock was the “Superior” Spider-man recently. It’s a Freaky Friday thing, between Peter and Octavius. My impression is that he actually tried to do good while he was there.
To me good guy at heart means its a guy thats a villain, that if it was up to him he would be a good guy. Doc Ock was a good guy turned into a villain when _______ chip was destroyed and the AI from the tentacles took over.
Going off of old memory of Spiderman 2 here, anyone with a more accurate story line, please post.
Ock-in-Peter’s-Body had all of Parker’s memories, and as a result was driven to be a hero, but it was clear throughout that Octavius without those memories was still a bad guy at heart. So I’m not very confident that this is the 3* that teaser was for.
Wouldn’t say he was a bad guy at heart. Eventually he tried to purge Peter completely and acted on his own. His ego and over-confidence became his downfall but (as written) he actually propelled Peter’s life in a direction in which Peter himself was not able to do himself. There was a lot of good that could be taken from that. He’s currently the main character of the Spider-verse stuff as Superior Spider-Man which will tie into the main book at some point. Seems like they may be going in a direction to keep Ock as Superior and bring him back to the main universe as such.
I cant see Dr Oc being 2*, the key phrase here is “the 2* is a variant” there is no Dr Oc to be a variant of. I think this means like a Punisher variant etc.
Spoilers contain extreme spoilers. They will ruin Superior Sipder-Man, if you haven’t read it.
Seriously.
“Although he manages to escape, Octavius is forced to realize that he has failed in his goal to be a ‘Superior’ Spider-Man when the restored Peter Parker takes over to save a child from a runaway train where Octavius hesitated, reflecting that he is aware of his fundamental inferiority as he overcompensates while Peter holds himself back but acts when he has to. Octavius then willingly deletes his own consciousness so that Peter can regain control of his body. As Octavius’s last memories fade, it is shown he had really fallen in love with supporting character Anna Maria Marconi, much to Peter’s surprise. Octavius tells Peter he’s willing to give up his love to save her, something only Peter can do as the true Superior Spider-Man, and save New York in his place.”
And yes, I was lazy and copy/pasted from Wikipedia.
I can’t seem to post a new topic so I’ll just try and reply to one of tehm instead.
Are we going to get Professor X and Jean Grey type telepathic players?
these could be useful since thecan allow for control of opponents players.
they could neuter them (reduce their attacks or defense)
use their own power against them
or of course immobalise them.
This add a new type of player in teh mix, besides the attackers, defenders and ap generators; the opponent manipulators…
Also, there should be some way to limit the iso usage only to charaters used in battle, like experience points in traditional RPGs…
