i see everyone mentioning it all over the boards but was not able to find anything that actually goes into what it is. can someone please explain what it is and when it is utilized? From what i’ve read it seems to help ppl place higher in some of the events and/or prevent attacks from taking away points.

Yea, don’t worry about it op. It’s nit something ppl can really do anymore as they have made a bunch of changes to disallow it.
Tanking is deliberately losing to lower your rating in PvE or PvP to get offered easier matches.
As mentioned, we abused it so badly they disabled it.
It’s one of the main reasons why matchmaking was such garbage.
People you should be playing against have tanked their way out of your MMR tier. People you shouldn’t be playing against have tanked their way into your MMR tier.
Good Riddance. Man up and fight. Only cowards surrender.
Love every change they’ve made so far. Shields for the climbers, no more 3 attempts (you can actually win a defense!), No more triple boosting 2 stars jacking you for -40.
It used to be rare to be hit for 25+. Back before Hood Round Scoring became the norm.
Ah, the good old days when people could get to 1000+ without shields.
