Got kicked out of top 100 last PVP @ 600 pts, I hope people aren’t as set on Mystique as they are Hood… I’d rather not have to get to 700 pts just to get top 100 -_-
It’s gonna be a heck of a lot worse for Mystique, since she is a new character that most people still need covers for. Most of the top level players already have max Hood and could afford to take it easy on the last PVP since it is between seasons.
Don’t worry. Given the fact that MMR makes everyone compete above their level from the get go, you can be confident in the fact that you won’t be able to ever reach 700 pts unless you’re a pay-to-win Sentry-bombing shield-hopper with pockets deep enough to boost and shield straight out of the gate.
Maybe next event, Demiurge can streamline the experience a bit more and allow players to buy from a limited stock of covers directly; first-come, first-serve. You know; bypassing the phase where we have to lube up our rear ends might actually be nice…
Ugh…I hope you’re wrong -_-…I really hope people figure out she’s not good and stop competing for her, especially since its not even season. All I want is top 100.
Are you seriously telling me top players WEREN’T doing anything last PVP? So last PVP was just filled with people who wanted Hood?
The problem with any of the events when everyone is maxed is that your first battles take an insane amount of time to just get a few hundred points. Does actually to play this event?
Sorry but we figured out that Mystique’s pretty good, and we want her. Good luck on getting t100, if you have any decent villain(s) you should do fine.
By current PVP standards yes, top players weren’t doing much in Children Of The Atom.
Everyone just went for the 1300 progression and then stopped wherever they were.
This PVP will be much worse since most of us will want T5. Will be interesting to see how those 5 or so hours of borked MMR field testing influence brackets and scores.
Mystique is one of the rare purple/blue characters (both active to boot), which are both extremely hard to find in the 3* land. We have what, Daredevil to fill out the role otherwise? It’s truly sad. Nick Fury while good is slow and expensive to level/cover.
Her steal/stun ability looks amazing even at cover 1. Her blue appears to be almost as strong as Thunder Strike cascade-wise. Her black can drain AI AP if needed or be used for her own nuke, although there are better blacks out there, and even then, hers is pretty cool. She only has low health going for her but Hood has less and people accept it because of his stellar AP drain ability. If Mystique’s is slightly worse due to being attached to a CD, she has 2 other decent skills and again, higher health.
So yes, she could be our long-awaited 3* analogue of oBW (not exact one, with tradeoffs and benefits, for example, oBW has no stun and no real damage dealing skills, but Raven does). And vets are going to go hard after her.
I like this event. I like running Loki/Doom/Hood and just having a little fun. Illusions shakes up the board and Trickery takes all Laken’s nasty strike tiles and makes them nice protect tiles. And if I don’t use Trickery there’s always Summon Demons or Intimidation to choose from.
I like a good troll team, but man, that lineup has to take half a year to do any damage. Hope you’re bringing a super-leveled Ares TU or something to unload the green.
Oh no, that would spoil the fun. To me there are few things in the game that compare to beating a Sentry/Laken/Hood team with their own World Rupture because you’ve replaced the strike tiles with protect tiles. Or watching Laken heat himself to death because Technopathic Strike has taken away all the blue tiles.
I can choose to Sentry Bomb ™ (c), but sometimes, just sometimes, I like to play around a little.
And vets are most likely the only guys, having 3 featured chars at max level and so get an event, that is fully in the favor and flavor of the vets.
No offense, Locked, this event is NOT designed by you, it is just a bit of an annoiance for the guys trying to transition and then getting served some event like this one for a new char, taken us almost at once out of competition for a top position.
