Want to see what other cards you can get the full / alternate artwork for? Well then take a look at the full card gallery below:
Maybe it’s just me, but 400 crystals for different artwork for a card I already have… And it’s JUST ONE card, not a few… What, did you have to send the whole Oktagon team overseas to Japan to pick up the artwork? Was it hand-crafted, pixel by pixel, into the card art from the original, which, of course, is available for people to just download off the net?..
Something tells me if you really had the chance, you would just be selling the card art for $29.99, but thought “better” of it.
Remember, that alternate card art’s cost is MORE than a current Premium pack… So, I don’t get how you priced it…
Still looking forward to the event, but geez, could someone on the Business side stop playing those gambling apps with D3’s money so you aren’t trying to hoard more of ours?
I won’t buy it, thats for sure… but we’ve been asking for the esthetic stuff since a while and we know the guys … We shouldn’t expect anything to be cheap in this game …
Besides, with how terrible Ugin is … None is playing it anyway … :#
Yeah, I’ve even got the suggestion for the Japanese artwork to shock me that they actually listened to something!
And yet, apart from the fact that it’s mostly Vanguard supports (or.. all?) they got the art for, the way they are “doling it out” just seems cheap..
For 400 crystals, I’d at LEAST want a few (three or four) of the cards and hey, maybe some mana jewels to go towards getting one of the Vanguard cards I don’t have… (Oh, and while they’re at it, remove the dupe possibility for Vanguard supports).
A mythic drops on average around once per 3 PPs, making the average cost of mythics from packs around 1000 crystals each. 400 is cheap in comparison, especially when you can control whether it’s a dupe or not and choose to avoid the purchase if it would be. (Sure, you get other stuff from PPs as well, but players with a real lack for runes or c/u/r cards don’t seem to be the target demographic here.)
You could argue that normal packs are bad value for mythic-hunting in general, and that therefore that comparison isn’t so meaningful. And you might have a point, because of the two rather effective alternative ways of pulling mythics (orbs and jewels) that the developers have added to the game.
Of course, Ugin will be a (functional) dupe for pretty much all current players. That’s all that’s necessary to explain why few people will pick it up in this case. A more interesting case for judging the price point would be an alternate art mythic whose normal version wasn’t previously given out for free.
Wait a minute … They never said the alternate art would grant you the card itself … Or i missed something?
I must admit the wording is confused … But wouldn’t it be strange to offer targeted mythic vanguards for 400 crystals … While they offer the same card, without full art, abd a risk of dupes for 300 jewels ?
If it is so, it’s a nice move … But also a huge slap in the face to players that spent tons of pinks in dupe vanguards.
I think it’s a distinct card and not just a skin on an existing card because of this, from the 3.6 release notes:
(Please Note: These cards are considered individual separate cards, so when you’re creating a deck, you will need to choose between the standard artwork card or its full/alternate art card.)
But I guess we might not know for sure until they become available and someone tries it.
This is what I was referring to. The only problem is, except for new players who come afterward, everyone who played from the beginning of this current expansion got the Ugin vanguard card for free, remember?
So now they want us to pay 400 for the same card with different art.
Yup, it IS a “separate card”, but it just seems like they should have released the alternate art in a different way.
I see what you mean about getting a Mythic card, let alone a Vanguard, for “cheap”, but if we have it already, why charge us for a duplicate of a card we already have, just for the artwork?
Mid june, we have an annoucement about vanguards available for jewels … Followed by the promise we would have enhanced droprates of jewels in events in order to purchase them …
Obviously, this argument was meant to be an incentive to spend pinks on them … And credulous customers did spend their pinks.
Right after the WAR release, customers realized the packs could give dupes … At that point we were still supposed to get more pinks from events so we lived with the disappointment.
A few weeks later, we realize that instead of increased pinks drops, we had the exact opposite … A drastic cut on pinks in every WAR event …
And now … Less than 2 months after the initial annoucement … After players have spent a significant part of their hoarded pinks on fake annoucement basis … This …
Honestly, what a scandalous breach of trust …
Lack of communication was already a thing, but we got to another level here … Fancy tricks and shameless lies … is that the treatment customers should expect from the firm in the future?
I’m always game for trying something wacky. Having picked up the full-art cards from the Fblthp bundles, I decided to try doubling up on those cards.
The game forces you to pick one or the other.
If you select the normal-art version, then try to add the full-art version, the normal one will become de-selected.
gave it a try just to see, won and unlocked everything with one battle and the legacy bundle pack it gave me had 3 mythics and 2 masterpieces so heck yeah bugged but i will take it lol
I can confirm - that “basic legacy booster” is just like the ones you get from VIP… which means it prioritizes non-duplicates!
Claimed my booster… got Sword of Light and Shadow, Ornithopter, Mind’s Eye, Platinum Angel, and Slaughter Pact! That’s a lot of orbs saved from not having to craft them!
i bought it wasnt very much to level him up 80k i think. havent tried him out yet though, debating if i want to try to gring to get ugin or but the totally lost card pack
