I’m not usually one to openly brag in a non-funny way, but after last night I had to, I shattered my previous first shield score which was just over 1300 points (set last event) by shielding for the first time at 1859. I’d have broken 2k, but took hits from Ducky, Stringer Bell, and a random. Not calling them out; taking hits is part of the game and I know I dish out my fair share on climbs.
Anyways, thanks to Hulkbuster, Jean Grey, a points heavy slice, and good timing I was able to hit 70+ pointers from 0-1800+. Funny part is, I’m 6th in my bracket. I think it’s time we separated the high end players from the lower end players no?
I contributed to that by losing to you twice in a row. My roster isn’t as strong as yours, but the cascades your team got in their first two moves gave me no chance. I was obliterated both times by the sixth or seventh turns.
Anyway, I’m happy to have contributed to this milestone.
I wish there would be a “champions” pvp without time slices where the t500 season scorers battle it out for the best rewards offered in any event.
In addition to placement rewards, offer a great progressive reward for every 300 points beyond the 1300 point reward along with a pipedream progressive reward for some insane amount (4000 maybe).
I only ask hilights get posted sporadically like scores, win % with most used team comps for that player.
Sweet 16 style it. First off T500, only T100 move on.. T100 , only T50 move on, T50 to T20, T20 to T10, T10 winner takes all.
Due to lack of standard points, no shielding allowed, and random gauntlet style teams are in the mix, point values for those vary by difficulty level, cannot target the same player more than 5x in 1 day once you hit the T100.
You think you’re good??? Ha, I beat my previous best PVP Last night by a whopping 16 Points when I reached the promised land of 814 and claimed myself a Hulk cover - He is 3 stars you know? Pushed my Hulk up to a monnsterous 4,0,0 which I believe is the optimum build.
Or green->purple->red with less than 30 AP but still a decent number → dead Hulk and wounded everybody else. You can also just beat the crap out of Hulk and then use Mind over Matter to replace six pending Anger tiles with just one.
Congrats to you! I had the opposite experience. Was unable to break T100 with almost 700 points (personal best). Which has previously never been an issue for me.
congrats Jamie. I too managed a personal best which is a miracle after last night. last night I struggled mightily. running 166s, I tried to tread water at 600. nope. so, starting my push from 490 at 12-13 hours from event end (usually somewhat quiet), hits started coming in at 700 and it hamster wheeled at 800. ended last night at 790 with 2 hops and event end left. kept a familiar name and a top alliances queued. very good morning hop up to 909 and another single match hop to 978 I had event end left. broke with 8 minutes left (to give time to retreat a bad start), did 2 matches and no hits came in. ended up at 1103 for a t50 finish. I had broken 1100 once before but server was down and I was ocd about being first back on and got several extra matches in late in that event that really shouldn’t have happened, so I don’t count that one. anyway, congrats. I just look forward to the day I can walk up to 1000 and 2-3 hop 1300. that looks so nice right now.
To answer how I avoided triggering anger, it’s basically a combination of all of the suggestions. Knowing how to use a team is as important as having the best team. 95% of the time I’ll just save enough AP to grind down Hulk enough to punch him to death with HB. It generally looked like this:
Overdrive
(target hulk)
Hulk-Proof
Full of Surprises
Mind Over Matter
Repulsor Punch
Match
If Hulk is still alive the 2+ anger tiles from the punch, match, and cascade generally make a match 5 which kills hulk and stuns anyone else that may still be alive.
