While we can all gripe about the scaling issues, rubber-banding, and other things, I think many of us have learned a lot about some of the characters since the different buffs and locks from the missions have pushed us out of our comfort zones. Here are some of the things that I’ve played around with and enjoyed:
M Storm OWNS mobs (I think a lot of people already knew this)
Yelena actually kinda almost doesn’t quite entirely suck against mobs either.
Moonstone’s Gravity Warp does some pretty useful things here and there for a decent cost.
Bullseye is fun as hell on the Desert stage.
Loki’s Illusions is cheesy.
Daken is badass. Could be a side-effect of him being buffed.
Maggia Thugs and Spies always need to die first.
Don’t mess with buffed molotovs.
Invisibility cheats!
6 green ap can make you want to throw your phone across the room.
Buffed Demons are my new best friends.
Invisibility cheats!
You are better off in the long run for diversifying your roster than focusing on just two people for your pvp team.
The only thing I learned is that lvl230 XForce’s strike tiles are prolly worse than lvl20 or so Daken and that even when IW somehow manages to place 3 invisibility tiles with the help of goons (yes that actually happened to me), she will end up matching them all by herself anyways.
I could probably edit that to say either Storm is gross on the desert. For almost the entirety of the Simulator, C Storm and BWGS have been my go-to characters. IM40, Hulk, and a few others make appearances, but those 2 are pretty ridiculous.
I think you have to be careful evaluating the usefulness of characters when using their buffed versions. That can often be the thing that is required to actually make them viable, with their usual unbuffed state being nowhere near good enough to be considered for selection. It does allow us to use get a feel for those characters though, which cannot be a bad thing.
What I’ve learnt -
X-Force at Lv230 is pretty crap right now
Magneto red does have a purpose, hello strike tiles
Maggia Thugs are the true Maggia Dons
And…
Something else, which puzzles me -
If it is a Simulator, why would any damage taken in there carry over from fight to fight? Pretty morbid Simulator they have there, at S.H.I.E.L.D.
I’ve learned that one of the best teams is venom, spidey, and magneto marvel now…can almost finish the match withour getting hit if the board starts out right. stun lock then eat. great combo. also works well with OBW or the hood instead of mags
I tried using Daken for the first time since the Dark Avengers tournament - he was only 30th level; I’ve taken him up to 67th (so far). He’s really useful - he essentially works how Wolverine used to - and he has insanely good synergy with Ares. I’ve been using those two plus Daredevil in Blind Justice, and they’re great together.
Interestingly, whether intentional or not, we learned a lot of new combos that will probably be implemented more when additional nerfing happens. I like my Hulk/Daken combo right now, it’s fun and generates a ton of greens and strike tiles. MN Magneto and Classic Storm is a great area damage combo. Loki is somewhat useful. Hood/Magneto is probably the most powerful combo in the game.
Modern Storm+thor causes infinite combo that will beat anything.
both my thor and storm are level 50, and I beat level 230 by just wearing them down by 15 minutes of sitting there and clicking abilities endlessly.
That participating in the new world scaling pve events are not for me. Current plan is to join as late as possible and maybe get a token. It’s not fun and losing to 1* teams anger me so why bother.
I’ll stick to pvp where my fate is more in my hands than not. It’s not perfect (cough, broken mmr system) but it’s closer than pve.
Been looking for a good match 3 game for a long time and this is still it.
