Is it me or they have made unannounced changes in MMR. they seem to have widened the buffer (the number pf ppl you re cycling through a node) and its getting more costly to find a specific target.. i missed some high points targets because of this.. wanna know if its only bad luck or somtehing other have also noticed..
It’s really hard to prove a negative but i’ve not noticed any changes. I am in slice 5 for the current PvP though so not been actively hunting large scores yet BUT have had XMEN popping up in my queue when they aren’t shielded about as much as I would expect so far. If I notice anything later on (when it would be more noticable) then i’ll post it but I would be surprised if they ninja changed it given how people have reacted to ninja changes in the past and they way they’ve been more communicative.
EDIT: Also are you wondering about target discoverability rather than MMR? I presume you were looking for targets at the scores where MMR no longer really exists anyway?
K. Thanks for the heads up bonfire.. sometimes i just can be out of luck in this game.. ![]()
What i also noticed is how incredibly hard is It to re-q your last target.. Limiting the length of your hop.. Anyone?
Haven’t seen it - I am in the 800s and have been able to queue up the people ahead of me without a problem, and requeued one when I didn’t notice he was still climbing.
I’ve been having the opposite issue. I’m having a hard time finding players with lower scores than mine unless they’re only worth <5 points. Especially if I’m in the 900+ range and they are just below that. As soon as they break 900 points and/or get higher than me I can find them no problem.
I’ve also noticed the lower instance of doubling up on someone during a hop.
Its gotten worse for me. The pool has expanded a bit, but I cycled through the same dozen people last night over and over and over. I was 8th in my bracket and couldnt get anyone with 2X points, yet once passed three straight times on the same guy (at 17pts).
All of Jaime Madrox’s matches are worth 100 points. I know there’s a thread for that already, but c’mon.
No changes to matchmaking lately.
The thing about MMR, as I understand it, is that as your rating changes, you should expect to see different behavior. That’s how Tanking works, after all. So, if you’ve done well (or poorly) enough to move into a different MMR bubble with either fewer (or more) people than your previous rating allowed, you’ll see different amounts of people. And, it’s not just your MMR you have to consider. If your MMR has remained unchanged, but a lot of people move into your band, you’ll see more targets. Available target pool is something that will always fluctuate, depending on event. This is why things are always so wonky after a BoP or 1/2/3 star event.
This is all based on my EXTREMELY LIMITED knowledge of MMR, but it sounds good to me. And since this is the internet, I have no compunctions about spouting off on something I know very little about. Wee!
