I know better than to put this in the Suggestions forum, but wanted to ask if we can get a Not Now prompt on cards with Flash and Addendum. If there is supposed to be, please say so and I will move this question to the Bugs forum.
I’ve had several instances where I would like to hold onto a card with either of these effects, only to have it fill up with mana in the same draw before it can be disabled. For a general example, take the case when a card is drawn due to matching an activated gem, and that match gives the drawn card enough mana to be cast.
Specific examples of play affected:
- Bedevil - I do not want to autocast and give three damage to the opposing PW, I want to save the card to flash kill a creature later
- Pause for Reflection - I do not want prevent damage on my own turn, I want it on the opponent’s turn
Sphinx’s Insight - I would like to hold the card to gain life next turn rather than just draw 2 cards
…and so on.
Yes, this would slow down the game in a few cases, but that would only be on your side since Greg doesn’t know how to disable cards anyway. Some cards already have the prompt when the main card effect requires a target, so not even every card/instance would have to be modified. (Bedevil prompts when there is a creature to target, but when there is no creature it instead auto-casts into destroying an artifact or dealing PW damage.)
Happy to hear everyone’s thoughts on this.
EDIT: Sphinx’s Insight does have a prompt when full. Most other addendum cards have a target that generates a prompt, and it is my mistake assuming the untargeted cards did not. I’ve edited the title and struck through the incorrect statements above.
