Nothing happens on launch

Hi,

Using my Asus windows 10 laptop, I’ve played MPQ for over a year. I use steam.

Last July, I was out of town and was playing daily. One evening I came back to my hotel, tried to launch MPQ and nothing happened. No message. No process on the task manager. Nothing.

I’ve reinstalled. Verified the files. Manually deleted the files and reinstalled. Every time the result is the same.

I can still play MPQ on my other machines, just not on my laptop, so I can never play when I’m away from home. This hasn’t been a huge problem for me, but now an alliance wants to make me a commander so I need daily access when I’m out of town.

Is there a known solution to this issue?

Do other steam games work? Does the steam app itself work?

Yes, can play any other steam game on my laptop. MPQ is the only thing that does this. I’ve tried launching both directly from the steam menu and from the desktop icon and either way it just does nothing.
