My idea for deck slots:
Include 2 slots per PW, these would be specific to that PW only. Beyond the initial 2, additional slots could be purchased using runes…giving us something, other than leveling up PWs, to spend out runes on.
Since a deck slots feature would be aimed at more advanced players, I think starting with just one slot per PW is fine. A second one could be awarded by e.g. finishing Origins story.
Additional slots should cost both (a lot of) runes and (a reasonable amount of) crystals.
Now, the question is, should there be some upkeep cost, or should it be just a one-time cost?
One and done. Any expenses that upgrade a player’s account to have more features should always be a single expenditure with no upkeep. We’re already forking over our time (and in some cases, our money) for virtual cards - forcing a player to expend more resources to maintain that upgrade is a player-hostile action.
Yes! Deck slots are needed and fast. They should have a cost… Make them a mastery prize. Thats one way to prevent players to stay in Silver or gold when they should advance to platinum.
I couldn’t agree more that we need slots. With multiple events running, and different objectives in each, it’s really a burden to manage that outside the game.
I cringe because they will likely charge far more than it’s worth, much like they do with everything else in this game. There are currently 21 planeswalkers. I would not be surprised if they charged $10 per deck slot, per planeswalker. I have no problem with them charging for things like this but there is a limit to what is reasonable. I know you will argue that some will have no problem paying whatever they charge so it’s ok for D3 to charge whatever they want and that they are justified since people will buy it. I could do without deck slots (in the event they are overpriced) if they would just improve the UI so I could get to the planeswalkers I want and edit their decks more efficiently.
I’m afraid that for now this is the best you’re getting in terms of an official response.
As soon as Brigby has some new info, he’ll let everyone know.
To be honest, I don’t think that trying to predict whether deck slots will be a paid upgrade and how much they would cost makes much sense now. I hope we’ll get them soon and that they’ll be accessible to everyone
