Is anyone else extremely disheartened by this spin / over exaggeration, or is it just me?
As a die heard X-Men fan ( with the tattoos and comic book collection to prove it ), this is really just unacceptable.
Contractual obligations side, couldn’t they have AT LEAST have retooled an X-Character, or three??? I understand that we were NEVER going to get an all out Apocalypse event, since it’s not allowed, due to Fox and Marvel and Disney all being drama queens. Dreams of us fighting Apocalypse, with him calling his Four Horseman to his side ( or even a complete re-skinning of Cap calling Avengers / Tony calling suits would have been completely fine with me ) were ALWAYS in the toilet. No 4* or 5* Magneto…no X-Force Psylocke…no Angel or Archangel…no Weapon X Wolverine ( fine by me lol )…no 5* stand alone Apocalypse…not even a crummy 1* Jubilee.
But AT LEAST doing a tweak to Mohawk or Psylocke seems like something that would not need big brother’s approval, right?!?
The last omission that was THIS egregious was Jessica Jones not getting added when her critically acclaimed Netflix show premiered. They claimed that they did not have enough time to put her in ( ridiculous ), but X-Men Apocalypse was announced YEARS ago. lol
Am I the only one that is truly bummed out by this missed opportunity and celebration? Didn’t anyone else have tons of ideas that they envisioned and wanted implemented, for X-Men Apocalypse? I’d personally love to hear them.
Not really disheartened by it, but I do think they could’ve just completely ignored it. At least we now know why Wolverine’s DDQ was held back, and puts all the rumors to rest.
I’m trying to think of what Jessica Jones’ moveset would be. Although she was a great character and I loved her series, I dunno if she’d make a good in game hero. She’s super strong and can sometimes maybe almost fly a bit kinda. Then again, I’ve been wanting Coulson and Maria Hill in the game, so I guess I don’t actually know what the heck I’m talking about. XD
I said this before, but I think the reason that this is all you’re getting for Apocalypse has less to do with the Fox/Marvel feud (remember, last year’s Fantastic Four movie had Mr. Fantastic and a Galactus run) and more to do with the fact that the Civil War hype train is still going. People will say that Deadpool is an exception for any number of reasons, but they ran his PvE during the weekend of his release, and PvP around him as well IIRC. If Apocalypse were in that August release slot instead of May, I think you may have seen a little more happen around it.
Well, now I feel bad that there was no Robin Scherbatsky character during the April 1 character creation thing.
Let’s Go To The Mall!
In these dark times, Robin reminds us of happier times, brighter times, 80s times. All colors become neon, bright sparkles are added to all match effects, the music get SUPER synthesized, and both teams are stunned for one turn while they go to the mall.
What Are We Fighting Aboot?
Canadians are peaceful, eh? Ask Logan, he’ll agree! Whichever character makes a match is stunned for one turn while they wonder what this fight is aboot.
Literally The Best Move There Is!
When the AI gets a match-5, the game closes, registering no damage dealt to your heroes and losing no points in PVP.
Because Marvel doesn’t want even one fictional person who wouldn’t have seen X-Men: Apocalypse to go see it because of one of their games–even if that means costing them potential players who won’t play their games because they don’t have [insert FF or X-Men character of choice]. I think it’s silly but it’s the line they’ve drawn. Not like they did anything for the Deadpool film, either.
The one that got me was when Thick as Thieves showed up.
“Huh? I thought we were getting a new event this week. Hmm, might have just mis-read it.”
Then I checked PvP and saw Children of the Atom.
Oh absolutely that was worth shouting from the rooftops, D3. You nailed that one. A brand new PvP event! I wonder how this will differ from all of the other ones?
Spoiler alert, it doesn’t.
I am annoyed that Storm, Magneto and Psylocke are horsemen of Apocalypse. I mean, seriously? Why don’t we completely ignore who the tinykitty these characters are and make wolverine a honey badger or something??
The movie was entertaining but I’m good with MPQ pretending it didn’t exist
Technically, this game is using the Inhuman version of them from the MCU. You can really tell with Switch. So yeah, they aren’t counting them as mutants.
