Sister poll to the other one, let’s pick who you would not miss for SeasonXII.
Omitting the guys previously vaulted: Magneto, Thor, Punisher, Doom, Torch, Daredevil, Loki, Patch
Vaulting Susan means slightly minuscule better odds of drawing the other 4*s.
And more importantly, it allows devs to “work on her outside the spotlight”.
As mentioned in your other thread, vaulting is bad workaround to ‘solve’ the issue with token odds… ‘working on her outside of spotlight’ is just a nice statement, but not much beneficial to players, nor to devs. Taking someone out of the rotation is just frustrating for those who miss few covers for maxing them out. Vaulting of Steve, Punisher, CMags, BPanther made no sense at all and did not fit to that statement. The only guys benefiting of such vaulting are those who either don’t care of the character OR have them already fully covered.
That “out of spotlight” reasoning is just plain downright… not very convincing. I quoted it in irony, btw. I hope HiFi’s next rotation announcement will have a new phrase that is slightly more plausible.
Let me just pick one as example - heroic token can be utilized on themed packs. Meaning you get 1 heroic token you can use it for either Villains or Heroes. Suddenly you have smaller set of characters per token, making the odds OK even if the amount of characters released is growing. Or devs could build the themes based on color sets (characters with strongest Green and Black skills; characters with Red and Yellow …etc.). It’s not a rocket science and nobody owns patent for this…
Spidey, Sentry, Storm, Hood - all we’ve gotten lots of covers from lately, none have been vaulted yet.
I don’t think they should vault 4*, so few of them. When did they start vaulting 3*, when there were 25? Vault 4* then. Fix IW without taking her out of packs in the meantime.
I don’t see any reason to think that they’re going to start vaulting 4*s. I think they want there to be a bunch of them so that it’s harder to build one from tokens.
I don’t want to repeat myself… Certainly there’s a better approach how to improve the odds in tokens then by vaulting characters people with roster like you don’t need, while cutting off characters which people with rosters like me need. Vaulting has negative effects for some, while positive effects for others. Why not to seek for win-win scenario instead?
From the dev’s perspective, if you still need 1 or 2 covers of a character that’s been vaulted, you’re probably a lot more likely to buy them rather than wait. So that’d probably have a lot to do with the answer you’re looking for.
Simon never said there wasn’t a better solution; he was just pointing out that your original post was inaccurate due to the fact that it does help some people. That’s why I try to avoid using absolutes.
They shot down that exact suggestion in the latest Q&A as too complicated for people who don’t follow the forums or obsessively check token odds. You can still say it would be a good idea, but it’s definitely not happening.
There are 5 characters who existed before vaulting started that have never been vaulted. I chose 4/5 of them which include falcon, storm, sentry, and spiderman. The 5th character is hood but i don’t want him vaulted, so i chose invisible woman because i assume they will eventually vault 4* characters.
