@Brigby Any chance the other 21 Planeswalkers will get added to the list of choices? I understand not adding all 2353 cards but we only got 28 of 49 Planeswalkers.
@Brakkis Hmm that’s a good question! I know that it’s currently intentional to only have 28 Planeswalker pictures available, but whether or not more will be added in the future is info I’m unaware of.

Angrath is really the only PW not in the list, most of the other PW have only half
I’m a big fan of the changes overall. Hope more customization options come with future updates! 
I do think many of the options look very cool.
I was surprised to not see them on the “versus” screen at all, but in retrospect realized that seeing which PW you were facing was very critical information.
It could be shown at the end of the match screen? There it wouldn’t overwrite necessary informations but add a nice little bit of flavor
I really like the idea of unlocking avatars by gaining cards/PWs, so you get a level of exclusivity (I <3 my Fireman Angel!) but I do think you should be able to choose any of the card artwork.
If the issue is that it takes time to select which area of the art to zoom in on, and you don’t have that time, then I guess I can wait; I’d still like to see the choice expanded in the future. Presumably it will be as new sets are released anyway.
You’re right, you do need to see your opponent’s PW on the vs screen (you may even want to alter your deck when you know who you are facing!), but you don’t then need to see the two planeswalkers again at the start of the match proper, when both PWs slide over the gemboard and then slide away again. Here, the PW graphic could be replaced by your avatars.
