Prying Blade spawns Treasure Token early. [Investigating]

Prying Blade is actually spawning a token on the attack step instead of when damage is dealt. Not a big deal but it is inconsistent with the wording.

Actually the difference is quite significant :with double strike it should generate 2 treasures. But now create only one .

I like it though!
In Tezz with Blightcaster it can kill things before they block!

Haha! Honestly I thought about not reporting it because it actually benefits my Captain Lannery when she’s in the first slot. But that means one day it’ll get used against me too. Or maybe it was just a guilty conscience :smiley:

Grin. Yeah, as long as I know which way it’s working it’s all good. If they fix it so it’s worse for Tezz I’ll probably still use it but almost certainly add it into a double strike deck too.

I used Farm to kill a creature that was boosted by Prying Dagger and it created a treasure anyway. This was in the green node of RtO, so node effects couldn’t have caused it. The treasure creation was also missing from the battle log, I don’t know if that’s normal or not.

yeah, Prying Bar creates a treasure at the beginning of combat, not when damage is dealt. Either its written wrong or programmed wrong. if a creature has 0 power, still makes a treasure, double strike only makes one treasure, etc.

One other issue I’ve had with Prying Blade: it only spawns a treasure token when my creature attacks with it. Whenever Prying Blade happens to be equipped to one of my blockers (whether with Vigilance, Reach, or Defender), or an opponent’s Berserker comes after my equipped creature, Prying Blade does not spawn a treasure. But all of this still counts as “combat damage”, no?

prying blade seems to only trigger when you attack and not
when you deal damage by using a defender?

Ahh I see. I’m not a developer, but it sounds to me like Krishna has the right idea.

I’ll be sure to relay this to the team, so that they can investigate this occurrence further.
