It has to be Sandman. Also, if we do get a new 4* Spidey for the release of Homecoming, I bet you anything it’ll be Peter’s red hoodie outfit he uses before Stark gifts him his suit. It looks like that’s the costume he dons for a while after Stark deems him to irresponsible to have his suit (all from scenes in trailers). Kids are going to want red hoodies, and D3 will want to capitalize on the outfit too.
Hey! You guys are fixing a wave issue? That’s great news! Thanks for that. I wonder if this fix will resolve issues where I kill one foe in a wave, Thanos nukes the next two w/Court Death, and CStorm shows up in the next wave and casts Raging Tempest on me four times as happened in the last Big Enchilada I played… Or when I down the last foe in a wave with a critical match, and Teen Jean comes in on the next wave and hits me with her Psychic Feedback… Well, I guess I’ll wait and see.
Hot dang, @rubix_qube you’re totally right. Tested this in TBE yesterday and once I had enough black AP, I activated the power. Wolverine was in front, so the claws icon was on the left. I cancelled the power, shuffled OBW to the front, reactivated the power, and the Widow icon was now on the left.
I truly thought the icon placement was static, and didn’t realize they moved as you shuffled targets around. That’s totally awesome you noticed that and passed that info along!
The game is no longer unresponsive for a short period of time when making a match and waiting for banners, power animations and attack tiles to resolve
LOL!! Booster Gold!!! (“I’m not Green Lantern!”) if only…
My first (Marvel) thought was Kang too and part of me hopes it is him. We need more classic villains. It’s funny also that until you mentioned Fox rights, I forgot that Kang started as a FF villain. I tend to think of him as an Avengers villain, especially as he just had a fairly long comic arc in ANAD Avengers that continued into the current version of the Avengers.
But, the “summer of spidey” is pretty compelling so I’ll go in on Spider-Man 2099 too.
Yeah, I think the first encounter with Kang had to do with the pyramids having advanced tech because Kang was pharaoh (did I spell that right? Auto-correct isn’t trying to fix it).
The Sandman guesses are pretty good too. Either 2099 guy being literally trapped in time or Sandman as the sands of time. The picture of him in the hourglass was amusing.
I wonder if they have any plans for villains like Scorpion or Electro. Maybe we get so few villains because Demiurge is actively trying not to saturate the game with Spidey’s enemies. I mean, when I think Avengers, the first villains that come to mind is Wrecking Crew. Absorbing Man could be a fantastic addition though.
I don’t know if the Sandman suggestion was intended as a joke, but I also think it makes a lot of sense. An hourglass (timepiece) “traps” sand. I don’t know if Sandman is going to be in Homecoming or not.
Once I thought that the clue referred to Sandman, I wondered (or hoped) that Doc Ock and Sandman meant that we were going to get the whole original Sinister Six, which would be a new team affiliation (like Team Cap/Team Iron Man/Villains/Guardians of the Galaxy etc.) I actually tried to look at Doc Ock’s character page to see if it listed Sinister Six as a team affiliation, but it looks like you can’t do so from the info page in the store like you can in a vault. Oh well, I’m sure I’m totally wrong about the Sinister Six, and probably about Sandman too.
If you were going with DC villains, there’s the Time Trapper which would be even more appropo.
2099 and Sandman make sense. The 90s cartoon had a version of Vulture who could siphon vitality (de-aging himself) but that seems too removed from the other versions of Vulture to be the answer to the clue.
These clues are rarely as indirect as it would need to be for Sandman. We’re probably talking about someone from the future (or maybe the past) trapped in the present. Maybe someone who ended up trapped out of time? SM 2099 is a great guess, as is Cable, Bishop, and actually the Two-Gun Kid. Of course, there’s also Kang and Immortus, but they’re characters who haven’t aged really well. We’ve also occasionally seen versions of Iron Man from the future (descendants of Tony,) and almost invariably they were villains.
Weird that Marvel has so many characters that fit that description.
Yes. I just confirmed this with the development team. The enemy at the front will have their icon displayed on the left. This will still be applicable after R128.
Marvel did just release the first issue of a new Cable comic, so it could be him - though you’d think they’d have timed his release to coincide with the release of the comic. Plus, I’m not sure how often MPQ had introduced a new character based on a comic event rather than a movie/TV event (unless there’s a movie/series featuring cable that I don’t know about).
