Agreed. There are a few of us that have “seen the beastly light,” but he still gets no love.

For all the complaints (mine included) about character balance (I’m looking at you, sad mini-Spidey.
), D3 has made some subtle changes that appear to have helped heroes like Beast and Doc Oc rise above their previous levels of effectiveness.

I sometimes feel like the more “workman” characters don’t get credit for what they actually do well. I mean, not everyone can be IF, Cyke, or Cage…

Sure, the tweaks to beast have made him fun, and I really like using him in his pvp and on offense.

But let’s not mistake a large level buff for actual balance. Only a handful of 3*s are usable in PVP when not buffed. By usable, I mean when that character shows up on your defensive team, a jaws dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun scene does not shortly follow. Beast…is not one of those characters that many people are comfortable putting on their defensive team.

completely agree. really enjoy using the mid-tier in pve when they’re boosted. I can always fistclops something but piecing together marvel/torch/grocket/doom/gsbw/gamora - i enjoy that. figuring out how to get gamora tanking everything and then force feeding her black with fist or doom. did that recently. however, its a lot less fluid in pvp, especially the last few weeks with fist, then cage, then Cyclops, boosted. next week will be more varied. probably lots of blade.

I hate this event!

I have no Beast, so went high early on the event, up to 900+ a good 12 hours in advance using a powered Cyclops and a Thing at 248. Haven’t been troubled in any fights at all.

I unshield and get within one win of 1000, take down HB and Cyc easily enough, only for Beast to freak out, get a massive chain reaction and take out almost full health Cyc and Thing on his own!

After that I won the next five matches, but each time I win I lose two matches to much lower ranked challengers. Eventually just threw the shields back up at 800 points. I really wanted that Green Thing cover

Pretty miserable event in slice 1. Certain alliances have decided to snipe indiscriminately and top alliances have left. Unfortunately it’s the mid-week time slice that works the best for me given other commitments.

I seem to have ended up in a slice with the top 2 Alliances… namely Villains and Villains2.

It means that there are a lot of points available because they work together to boost their scores, but it also means that if you are unshielded at the wrong time you can expect to take an absolute beating from some of their enforcers.

I managed to get to 1300 and 7500 in the season (both were IW covers… bad luck, 11 legendaries in a row without a surfer, mine has been at 6 covers since the first week) and I’m just going to hold out since I’m not looking for placement or season score.

I do not know why people complain so much of the Beast. He is a good three star and I did a lot of damage to him in this pvp. No three stars is bad to play, the point is that some require specific matches to play. Quicksilver makes good partnership with Magneto and Scarlet Witch. Vision is good with Daken and Iron Fist.

I was #21(1007 pts) in this event and #4(1087 pts) and that is not a huge difference .
#1 in my pool has 1301(the only one who get 1300 progression reward

) and he has a nearly full-covered SS.

Because when he was released he was one of the worst three-star characters. He got a lot better when he was redesigned, but he still has a bad rep.
Fun fact: The old Beast was one of the few three-star characters I just could not bring myself to level. I try to find good things about most characters in the game, but the old Beast… just couldn’t do it.
