We’re shedding some light on our upcoming rebalance for Blade (Daywalker) during this year’s anniversary. A costume is also planned, but won’t be available to share until it’s in-game.
Looks like mostly upgrades. Problem is why is a 3 getting a rebalance instead of a 5? Or even a 4? Seems good for newbies, but useless to most people until he’s ascended to 5, which will take foreeeeeeeeeeever.
Rats, I foolishly thought and hoped this was going to be for the 4 star Blade.
I suppose we’ll learn tomorrow, but just in case someone is still around:
Does “this abilities threshold is reduced by 1” mean “the amount red tiles on the board required to create strikes is reduced by 1”?
If his black stole from more than just the strongest color that ability could actually be a bit of a threat. It’s so much better when they take from the highest pool rather than the potentially empty ones. Seems like he could be maybe fun at 5star for strike spam, but I reckon there might be some incoming “why the hell did we chose this character?”
Some quick maths:
Max 6 strikes out both active abilities will cost 4ap.
Max 8 strikes your pink punch tile will be 26,918 at level 550
His two active powers seemed whatever till you get to the ap reduction on the 3rd power. As Seph just said till he gets to 5*, and if we’re being honest really 550, kinda doesn’t matter. But if you do, he’ll be a beast, especially when boosted. Is he in lightning rounds?
I guess this ties in with Halloween? Can’t think of any other reason to do the rebalance, Blade was always sort of in the don’t notice he is there range and this isn’t going to change that. Oh well , hopefully the costume is cool.
I always liked Blade because the original film was so good when I was much younger. When the character was first released I used him a fair bit, but he’s not kept up with the pace sadly.
Anyway, we’ll all be delighted when the 5* Blade comes out to coincide with the new film’s release date in… 20??.
Does the Black damage really get lower at 5 covers after being higher at 1-4 on the 3* version? What happened there? And the ascended 4* version of that power has the After damage at 4 points higher than before?
Purple seems to have been nerfed at 1 and 2 covers, followed by a pretty big jump up at 5 covers at the 3* level. The Ascended versions seem to be a solid improvement until the 5* version which seems like it may have some kind of typo - the after version talks about plural tiles but no longer says it creates more than one. Which is correct, singular tile or plural tiles?
The additional effects of his green passive are interesting - it seems like for every 2 existing strikes, the threshold on it goes down by 1, presumably to a minimum of 6 as well as his AP costs on the other powers. I wonder if this will make him more difficult on that node he’s on with Lockjaw and Medusa in that one PVP?
