Roster advice for a third 3* / Beating CMag

Right now, I have only two maxed 3*: Punisher and LazyThor.

I no longer tank, so I am facing maxed 3* teams from the beginning, and 90% have CMag in it.
I really struggle against him: event if I try to deny him purple, he manage to have his purple during the fight way too often. Meaning serious health packs loss.
The best I can do now is use OBW (for purple stealing) with LThor (much more life than Punisher), and the featured character. But I do not like having to rely on OBW against 3*, I am looking for a 3* solution. Not to mention that in the 3* land, my OBW is an easy target, with countless defensive losses.

Do you have any advice on whom I should play/level up to improve my 3* (and make the CMag matchup easier)?
I now play casually, so I cannot focus on all characters, but I can focus on some events with nice rewards, and have enough HP to buy two covers.

My “not so far away from maxed” list:

  • Black Panther (5/5/2, lvl 111/153)
  • GS Black Widow (4/4/4, lvl 95/153)
  • Patch (4/5/2, lvl 110/140)
  • Hulk (5/4/2, lvl 114/140)
  • Human Torch (4/4/3, lvl 115/140)
  • Lazy Cap (1/5/4, lvl 101/130)
  • Falcon (3/5/2, lvl 97/127)
  • The Hood (5/1/3, lvl 104/117)
  • Psylocke (5/2/2, lvl 101/114)
  • IM 40 (2/3/4, lvl 55/114)

Other “good” characters, but missing more covers:

  • CMag (2/5/0, lvl 89/102)
  • Lazy Daken (2/2/3, lvl 55/89)
  • Sentry (1/2/0, 40/53)

Loki, Doom, Captain Marvel, She-Hull, Deadpool, Sentry, Lazy Storm, Spiderman, and Ragnarock too low-level or not good enough to notice

I have several 3* near to have 13 covers, but usually with poor covers: only 2 black for BP, same for Hulk, a single blue for Hood, far from the wanted 5 yellw for Patch, no purple for Magneto. So I am really balanced between two options:

  • Max one of this character to replace my “OBW/Thor” against CMag, and have more synergies than LThor/Punisher in other matchups
  • Wait for CMag nerf with my OBW, while trying to improve other characters (like maxed Laken, 5 blue for Hood, or something else)

Go Panther.

He partners up pretty well with Fatthor and even though they both have active yellow abilities, they’re both quite good so it doesn’t really matter which the AI uses on defence.

Hood isn’t a terrible option either. You might only have the one blue cover but that’s still going to slow Mags down.

Personally I’d go with Hood for your stated aim. Obviously more blue covers would make him much more efficient at keeping anyone you face in check but at 1 cover he is still capable of stealing blue and purple if there are enough tiles on the board. Getting 5 blue should be your aim if you plan to max him out though.

Black Panther works quite well for giving you another damage option, but you do need 5 black covers to make the most of it.

If you had more covers for Daken I’d say go with him as he works very well with Thor and you will pretty much kill everything a lot faster so negate enemy abilities that way.
