Slowing down the game will destroy it in an attempt to make the game better.
Sarah Silverman once joked. I wanted to make an App to see when my friends are going to the bathroom, but then I realized it was already made. It’s called Word’s with friends.
One of the enjoyable parts of the game is it can be played during those “bathroom breaks”.
In an attempted claim to balance the game and try to help new players, you are raising hit points, lowering boosts
, restricting player interaction by “equitable” match making, and lowering damage amounts by some of the heavy hitters. This is all reducing speed. You are pushing the game play out of the bathroom break territory and fun level.
We want a game that is fun, enjoyable, and quick when needed. We don’t want five minute fights.
We also want to have a chance to be able to hit more than two people on our shield hops.
Also increasing the buff of the featured player slows things down also. I am not sure of the explanation for that.
It is bad enough I have to see level 395 characters in PVE. Why do I have to see near 300 level characters in PVP?
Please find other ways to balance the game, besides slowing it down, because your play testing missed some things.
I don’t know a ton about the intricacies of matchmaking and the like, but I do know that I play the DDQ in the bathroom just about every morning…so I’m in favor of anything that promotes/supports bathroom play…
It is more about the work bathroom breaks. IF you have two 4 to 5 minute fights, that is most likely the entire bathroom break. Minus getting to the stall and actually doing your business of course.
It is more like they meet in the monday morning be cup of coffee, one of them tells others that it will be cool to add more Moonstone-like character, he tell them new characters abilities and thats it !
10 minutes of programming, one day for artwork, free-work week ahead them !
And super whales tries new character in game before developers.
This is how it goes.
Hell, I would even say they are killing the pvp mode itself, leaving the game with an unbalanced, lame ass pve mode (“5day grind this, 5day grind that”). Clearly they are not interested in the end game players and try to grab cash as fast and as long it’s possible.
I would propose to try to balance the experience for new and for old players, then you would have a game that lasts longer so you can earn money more steady. But that’s none of my business.
I saw an infographics breakdown for Summoner’s War and it says 2% of the total playtime is on the bathroom, and that’s only from guys who admitted doing that.
I will say that the HP increases are kind of sucking away at the enthusiasm I felt when they went from 2.5 to 8 hour timers. It was really brutal before to spend ~30 minutes every 2.5 hours, but ~30 minutes every 8 hours is pretty reasonable. With the HP increases, it seems like a “run” on PvE is going to start pushing more into the 45 min - 1 hour range. I just hope the don’t increase goon HP too…
