Over in the platform metrics thread, I was thinking it would be useful to know how many players are actually playing MPQ – are the forums representative of the playerbase as a whole, and lots of people are quitting, or are we a divergent vocal minority and the game is doing fine?
One way we can get this data is to see how many different season brackets there are – each bracket represents 5000 people who have played at least once in the last two weeks. Now, I’d suspect there aren’t a whole lot of regular forumgoers who didn’t start a bracket in the first week, so this method will definitely underestimate, but I’m curious to see what we come up with, and anyway it’s been a while since I’ve done a community data project, so here goes!
Same here, would NOT call my bracket soft. 4 various X-Men members in top 10. #1 had 18k, it’s not 20 or 21k points, but it’s still higher than anyone’s score in Season I which had the same duration. (But no Sentry, hehe.)
One of my fellow commanders in my Alliance was ranked #1 in his bracket with only 6K points in Season 3. He’s not on the forums but I’m pretty sure I didn’t see his bracket listed in the sheet
Wasn’t planning on it, since the goal was to see if we can get a guess as to how many people are actively playing. No reason that we can’t re-use the sheet for season four, though. Added a sheet for it.
