There are no boosted characters, so it all depends on your roster. You’re looking for characters that fit well together, and that evolves as you gain covers and levels.
In 2* land I liked using Hawkeye / Magneto / Storm.
In 3* land my Wolveroach account normally uses Captain America / Blade / Iron Fist, but Patch / Loki / Magneto can be fun too.
In 3* / 4* land I like Carnage / Doc Ock / Devil Dinosaur, or Kingpin / Iron Fist / Scarlet Witch, or Gamora / IM40 / 4* Thor. If your Prof X is low enough level compared to Witch / GSBW, that’s a decent team on offense.
Sophisticated players change their team based on the opponent’s team, that aint me.
More targeted advice can be provided if you provide a link to your roster, or some idea of what you’ve got.

To an extent it depends on the level of opponents you’re seeing. I guess you’re finding level 166+ 3* and 4*.
Maybe Panther / GSBW / Gamora? Rainbow coverage, let GSBW use purple to make green, then you have a choice of stun or sniper. Or swap out GSBW for Thor, then you have more options in yellow and green, but no purple.
Generally I like to give the AI no choices when playing defence, to minimise the stupidity of its moves, and that means GSBW. But I’ve slowly come to realise that at this level you can’t rely on defence, so it’s whatever works best on offence, at least for the climb.
tl;dr - try combinations out, see what works best for your play style.
@jg - I’ve run gsbw/panther with hood before. you could try with loki. panther and gsbw rainbow but neither are ‘fast’ without some acceleration. hood slows the other team down long enough to build what you need. loki might, but might not. i recommend working witch and cyke up asap if they’re at 13 covers. witch could be added to the panther/gsbw pair and i think that would work pretty well.
Updated. I usually get around to updating this thread only when there’s a new event post to link. Which there was, when I finally got around to adding the Doom event.
Starting new events with no lead time, during my lunch break, when I’m busily doing clears of the PvE, then getting home and having to grind the end of a sub then doing the first clear of the next, then having to catch up with Wolveroach’s DDQ and PvE, then realising that as Moon Roach I’ve completely forgotten Fatal Attraction, and have 3 hours to climb from 250 points when all I see are 4* teams for 25 points, then remembering about Doctor’s Orders and updating the forum, then typing this, there’s just not enough time in the day.
And now it’s Little Boy’s bedtime, ball-and-chain is watching Downton Abbey (series 1, episode 4) with Little Girl, so that’s another 30 minutes of my MPQ time lost. Maybe I can create a bot to take over some of my real-life responsibilities. I’d do it for MPQ, but I’d probably be banned, I’ve spent nowhere near enough on the game to get a free pass.
