Like many new players, I didn’t do any research, and made some poor decisions. Blowing thousands of ISO on standard packs, wasting HP and CP on covers, etc. I need some advice on how to course correct.
I currently have a dozen champed 2s, all between level 103-120. My two dozen 3s are generally in the 2-6 cover range. The question is, for someone who’ll be working on maxing 2s/collecting 3s for the next few months easy, are any of the following 4s worth keeping? Do I sell the 4 covers or is there someone on my team that should I replace? I have one empty roster slot so I can only keep one 4* cover out of the eleven. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

The stage of the game you’re in sets you up constantly to make hard choices between rosterable characters, and that’s going to continue until you get several dozen more roster slots. So the question really has to be, what are your goals within the game?
You can aim for a wide roster, which is good for PvE, and which means you should be focused on developing your 3*s. You also have the choice to focus on a tall roster, which means you can afford to cut lot of characters you don’t and won’t use, in favor of ones you definitely will. That’s better for PvP but can make PvE range from frustrating to unplayable. The good news is that whichever way you go, you’ll eventually farm enough HP to dig your way out of roster slot hell. But it takes a long time.
Going tall, if you’re a dedicated player, will get you more HP faster than going wide will (and will therefore dig you out of your hole faster), but it’s a more grueling experience for sure and you’ll eventually need to cultivate a more competitive playstyle, involving things like getting involved with a good alliance and using LINE. And it will still take months and months.
If you want a more relaxed experience, just bite the bullet and sell your 4s. It hurts, but you can keep in mind that the process of champing 3s can be done with minimal waste, while prioritizing roster slots for 4*s will mean a lot more waste in the long run.
Alternatively, you can just buy a few dozen slots, but losing your F2P virginity is never fun and it’s hard to go back afterward.
EDIT: Incidentally, on your list of potential 4* characters, only Quake is a really exciting one. Most of the ones you have available are pretty middle-of-the-road.
This was precisely the sort of insight I needed, thanks so much. I had no idea what the meta game is like, and though I may spring for VIP eventually, buying the needed slots to keep all these 4s is beyond me. I’ll ditch everyone but Quake and enjoy the slow grind to champing my 3s.
I’m much newer than you and earlier in game progression, but in reading the forums a fair bit I can say that people like star lord after his rework and quake is supposed to be good for PvE. People love iron fist but my guess is people would say sell Rags and Psylocke.
I personally know I liked moon knight when he was a loaner in PvE nodes and he seems to be a better than average 4*. I dislike playing kingpin in PvE, and people seem to talk about ghost rider a lot.
If It were me, I’d probably sell rags and roster both quake and star lord. And then maybe Psylocke for moon knight? Squirrel girl for kingpin? But I would refer to links in the character section to get a sense of what others think:
The 2*-3* transition is not so tough these days, keep on playing Deadpool’s daily and hitting PvE hard.
My 2 cents - roster the high-level 4s, don’t waste your time with the rest for now. 3s are the next step on the way to a strong roster, you need to prioritise rostering/levelling as many as possible.
