They could very well have objectives met after a match be saved, like in the Avacyn event. So doing 2-3 rounds will get you the end result for the 8 creatures required to satisfy the objective.
Plus werewolves got it easy, try casting 8 vampires AND 8 Eldrazi. I hope everyone has Call the Bloodline and From Beyond. But not in same deck, cause that PW isn’t out yet.
Six just crosses the line, nearly impossible for most people to consistantly achieve. And 8 eldrazis…good luck with that. It will just take a lot of killing ur own creatures for a dragged out game to accomplish.
Developer is just trying to screw the hardcore players from ever having a life. Well, good job, u’ve done it now. So what’s next? Summon 12 boar horrors? Cast 16 dragons? Deal 500 damages to the opponent without killing them?
colorless blight herder (rare) with process 2 condition met can net you 8 eldrazi with 2 cards. 1 blight herder + 3 scions per card.
it’s also one of the best rare eldrazi cards.
black can run this card easily since afew of its cheap good cards create void gems (grip of desolation, transgress the mind, graveyard birthing which calls a scion on its own)
I’m not going to have a problem meeting the first objectives. I have tons of werewolves and vamps and I can play them in 2 color decks with Descend.
(And I don’t care about the second because Eldrazi suck and I’m not desecrating my decks to try to meet that)
I was more thinking about new players who don’t have that arsenal of cards. This really sucks for a new or average player. It’s going to take a really good cardpool and skillset to meet those objectives.
Also like majincob said, it’s just not as fun.
Nodes is fun because we get to put our best decks forward, TOS is fun because we have attainable bonuses made a little more complicated by Enraged. Avacyn was fun one time.
This just doesn’t sound that fun – and I think if the people who come up with this stuff actually played this game (especially with the limited card pool that newer and average players have) they would see that.
I agree with all your statements except that last one.
I think it’s a bit disingenuous to assert that they don’t play the game, because of course they have to play the game in development and then decide what they think is the best thing for the game.
The problem is that they have a relatively tiny amount of play time to try it out compared to the thousand of man-hours put in by the players every day. That’s why we have these forums to give constructive criticism and provide user experience feedback. I believe that the developers (JC) do care a great deal about the game and I don’t feel comfortable seeing people imply otherwise.
Correct me if I’m wrong here, but aren’t you actually saying that you don’t appreciate the way dissatisfaction tends to manifest itself on these forums?
Posters here want to paint a target for their frustration/anger/regret, so they create the big-bad-developer character who is equal parts corporate fatcat, stoner, and special needs citizen.
I think that the frustrations themselves are legitimate and deserve to be voiced to the company, but I would agree with you (again, if I’m not talking from where the sun don’t shine) that the language used to convey those frustrations in the past has been highly lacking.
After the last time David HF Moore was on the forums he chided many for all-caps or character slandering. If I were him I wouldn’t be particularly excited about trudging into the smelly swamp of our corner of the forums. Though it is his job…
You make a valid point and I retract and correct my assetion.
I don’t think the devs play the game the way the actual players do.
I also find it a bit unnerving that they never respond to the bugs thread or suggestions / feedback - or pretty much anything unless they’re locking stuff down.
As much of my job deals with managing the online presence of the organization I work for – I can tell you that feedback is an industry standard for online forums and social media. You should let your customers know you care and that what they’re telling you matters or is noted.
So what’s your stance on this exactly? That you welcome the addition of tedious content to the game because players have the free choice of either hating it or ignoring it?
Or are you looking forward to playing 6 werewolves and 8 Eldrazi in every match?
