First let me start by saying I have played this game for 315 days. I have every character in the game. All 1 and 2 stars fully covered and levelled. 23 3 stars fully covered but no one fully levelled and at least one cover for every power of every character. 1 4 star fully covered but under levelled but again at least one cover for every power. I have only spent 10 dollars once early to buy roster slots. After all this I have come to three major realizations.
I still suck at this game. The amount of match 4/5’s I miss is amazing.
I actually dislike 8 hour refreshes. I would consistently finish top 10 with 3 hour refreshes because I can grind those like a champion and haven’t figured out how to effectively do the 8 hour ones with level 250+ enemies.
For the first time since I started I am going to not earn the new character upon release and I am actually okay with it. I don’t want to grind this one out and I feel relaxed and happier playing the game for fun instead of trying to speed run it.
I don’t know a single player, myself included, that doesn’t miss match 4s and 5s from time to time. I had to force myself to be more perceptive while playing.
It’s easy. Clear all nodes at the sub’s open. Clear nodes every 8 hours. Grind nodes for the last 1.5-2 hours of the sub.
Excellent for you! I took this same leap a few seasons ago and now I don’t even play for every new character in PVE. I grinded like crazy for Cyclops, skipped Iron Fist, and now I’m grinding like crazy for Professor X. If the event is one I don’t like, I skip it. I may not even hit top progression if I can’t be bothered with the cover.
OMG, I avoid the 4* releases like the plague. Love the game overall, though.
The “meta-game” is mostly a money-based game, which isn’t always fun. The match-3 game is a mostly skill-based game and lots of fun. For me, the key to long-term enjoyment is finding the balance between those two games, which also fits my “no regrets” budget. For now, that puts me outside of the 4* game (for the most part) and I still enjoy the game tons.
