haha yes, my gf hates it. I can be doing anything else and its ok, but if I’m caught playing MPQ it’s game over for me.
My Girlfriend plays it more than I do, she’s obsessed with collecting all characters and wants them all maxed out. Although at the moment she’s taking a break, she’s busy with Dark Souls 2
Lucky chap you.
Yeah it’s nice dating a gamer girlfriend, except when she’s hogging the PlayStation ![]()
I got my husband hooked on this game. It’s all he wants to talk about now!
Totally. Even reading forums is bad!
Anyone have any suggestions to turn them to the dark side?

Very hard to do, they either like games or they don’t.
My GF grew up playing video games and has been doing so ever since. My ex never played games and considered them a thing for “kids”, I guess their upbringing may have a lot to do with it
Although, with tablets gaming has become more socially acceptable, it’s not unusual to see bankers, doctors, lawyers etc playing video games on their iPads
My wife plays candy crush. Even then, it’s different from her perspective. She just don’t like me playing MPQ and ignore the rest of the world.

Same boat as Acid Jazz. Think it’s because there is some very measurable progress (i.e. Level N out of M).
My GF is awesome and plays this too. But she leaves the forums and info gathering to me.
After all itsmy job to provide her with any pertinent info I come across ![]()

Same here . . and now we are both in the same alliance.
My husband and I are very different and we look for things we can share.
My wife played NES growing up a little, but not much. Got a little into Farmville-like games. Also a mahjongg (real stuff, not Shanghai solitaire junk). I got her to try a Ragnarok Online-alike that she thought was interesting. Once she eased into that, I showed her a Romance of the Three Kingdoms card game that she got into. Then I breached WoW. At this point, she’s targeted at certain games but she’s been corrupted into as much of a gamer as most of my social group. We can sit in the same room playing our own games for hours and being perfectly happy. Success!

Heh, my cousin and I played the Romance of the Three Kingdoms NES game growing up a lot - that and Destiny of an Emperor. We were always so sad when it was time to return the rental to Blockbuster. ![]()
My fiancé is a gamer, but puzzle type games don’t do it for her. She either wants to be kicking ass, or building/farming something. We used to raid together in WoW back in the Lich King days, it was a blast. It’s hard to raid in a relationship with a non-raider.
My wife definitely disapproves. To the point where she considers even reading the forums as “Puzzle Questing”.
I usually point out her Facebook activity and it shuts the argument down. ![]()
My wife watches garbage tv (singing competitions, soap operas, Vampire dramas), so I just play while she is doing that.

That sucks, but its nice in its own way.
My wife and I watch mostly the same programs. Which is nice, but sucks in its own way.
My husband and I both play a comparable amount, but we have a friend who keeps half-seriously suggesting kicking her husband from our alliance for underperforming. ![]()
My lovely wife has a strange, complex attitude towards MPQ. She has a laugh every now and then, watching me “collect gems” (as she calls it), sarcastically pointing out the sheer stupidity of my actions, yet she’s genuinely interested in my progress and likes to ask me about the latest results, especially since I told her about the Alliance I have formed. Hard to understand this duality, really, but I’m glad she’s not critical about how I relax in my free time.
