Yeah, The Hood basically is good with everyone. If you’ve got powers that take a lot of AP, The Hood gets you there faster. If you have powers that don’t cost a lot of AP, The Hood helps you spam them faster.
Human Torch - Can play well with his Green and lets you drop off Fireballs like nobodies business. Lets you get Black off sooner, too, but Black drains other pools so can be counterproductive too, but not really more than usual.
Patch - Can cover Yellow for The Hood, but other than fueling his abilities faster, he doesn’t bring much extra to the plate. Patch is generally just a True Healing meatshield with a decent finisher (and a good comeback in TBTI), extra AP doesn’t really do much for this guy.
Hulk - Hulk is basically only good because of his health and his passive, so The Hood doesn’t really bring much to the table unless you’re using The Hulk for board shakeup. The Hulk can cover Black for him, though.
Deadpool - I really like this combination, tbh, since it lets you go ham with ALOtT, as well as Deadpool being able to cover Black and Life of the Party able to keep Hood shielded.
Sentry - Sentry covers Yellow for Hood, but otherwise, Sentry is just not a bread winner these days. I would avoid this one.
Gamora - I haven’t played much with her, but her damage ratios seem way to low to be worth while, but Hood will let her spam her abilities faster than normal. Being able to spam down her Red with a single match could work out decently. If you paired them with Daken, you could put out some pain, but this would be a B PvE team (Falcon being infinitely better than Gamora with Daken).
Captain America - Like the guy above mentioned, Captain America is a real champ, especially in PvE, with The Hood, since you can practically infinitely loop his Red and Blue abilities.
Blade - Blade really shines because of the combination of his Passive Green and his active Purple, and while The Hood can get his Purple going faster (and Blade can cover Black for The Hood), they’re both very squish, so you wouldn’t use this composition outside of PvE. On the other hand, if you maxed his passive and his black, you could use The Hood to milk the AP denial of Blade’s Black, but it’s still not something you’d use outside of PvE.
Colossus - He can cover Black and Yellow for Hood, and can let him spam his Yellow faster, but honestly, not the greatest combination. One could argue that it lets him use Fastball Special quicker, but honestly, I wouldn’t want him throwing The Hood, so yeah.
Dr Doom - Being able to cover Black and Blue for The Hood is pretty cool, especially since Doom is relatively tanky. As well as making his Blue pretty spamable, which in turn makes his Black pretty spamable. Good, but gimmicky imo. It kind of makes his Purple more playable, though, since you don’t have to match as much Purples to activate the ability. Still, gimmicky.
Luke Cage - I like the idea of him covering Black and Yellow for The Hood. I also like the idea of a faster double activation of Luke’s Black. I like it, but not premier.
The Punisher - Yes. It makes all of his abilities pretty spamable, since you can generally get any of them in two matches. That being said, Punisher’s damage is outclassed but a lot of other characters these days, so there’s that.
Rocket and Groot - Doesn’t honestly feel like he’ll bring much to the table for R&G. His green is okay. His Blue is going to force The Hood out for the match, nine times out of ten.
