The Hunt: Ares node. 342/343 Stupid scaling *vid*

If my roster wasn’t where it is, no idea how I’d beat this stupid scaling. wtf devs?

I know you’re going to say “well that’s what happens when you start to level 4*s” but i’m calling horse hockey on that!

The fact that you did this without boosting is impressive. You got really lucky. That said, the fact that you did beat this node that easily with your roster is exactly why your scaling is so high.

boosting in PVE is balderdash! I can’t do it, I won’t do it.

If you lose in matches like this your scaling does not go down so there is no benefit to say “that’s why your scaling is so high”.

There was nothing easy about that at all. I’ll upload others where I scrape by with the same team

One character took minor damage and you’re complaining? icon_rolleyes.gif

You’re fighting a node 30% above your level, Some of us are fighting +80% above level.

It’s like tanking and MMR in PVP. One loss doesn’t do a lot when compared to a ton of wins. Tank to it a bunch and it may go down.

You’re lucky you have a decent 4Thor to beat that node. I can’t rely on mine with only 2 blue covers. I can only use Hulk, Patch and Loki to beat those 300+ nodes and it doesn’t work as well as what you experienced.

A bunch meaning over the course of multiple months. without breaking to the temptation to actually go and use good teams

I used boosts, but they’re cheaper than health packs and I needed my characters for the grind and PVP. icon_lol.gif

The Hunt PVE - Florida/Ares (Level 356)

Mine were only 310ish by the end, but I did it repeatedly without boosts and without 4Thor. Boosted Grocket is fun.

I had 360ish or so, by the end, even as top 5 got to say those battles were pure luck
If the AI got cascades after cascades i could get up to sunder x 2 for around 16k damage
Ares is a 3* in disguise, quick skills and even a red that can destroy you if you time his defeat badly
The others can be annoying, specially with Venom stun to stop you but he’s the worst to face
And racing for higher rank you can’t avoid to continue grinding

There’s very little luck involved when you add in boosts. If not, surviving to get the one more match you need could require a lot of luck. If you have IF, the DA lineup is extremely favorable for him as you get either purple (almost infinite combo), green (X Force), or black (free Surgical Strike doing possibly 10K outright thanks to IF’s purple). There are times where I Surgical on 2 purple tiles just so that I can use Iron Fist’s tile generating power again.

My Bullseye III is currently level 373/374/374. Still cleared it with little damage taken.

Mine was just over level 380. 384 iirc icon_eek.gif
. I used a lvl 200 X force, 200 Thorette, 195 GSBW, (level with buff). I boosted b/p +3 and g/b +3. I used Thor to keep Ares stunned. At those levels, he can pretty much one shot most anybody. But the TU you can get from him are sweet. icon_e_biggrin.gif

While Ares was stunnec I’d use GSBW’s purple to stock green. Then, with enough green, black, red, I would try to take Daken out in one turn. Then focus on Venom while denying him black and keeping Ares on ice. I would also keep at least 1 super powerful TU with me in case of a bad board. Like a 166 Deadpool Whale Drop. I have over 190k Dp points saved up just for nodes like that. (and almost 400k saved on my 2nd account/roster).

Nodes that scale that high are doable now. But after the 3/23 nerf bat beat down … I don’t know. icon_e_confused.gif

Nodes like these are actually fun since they are challenging to clear. What takes the fun out of it is the measly number of points I get for clearing the node.

Marvel Puzzle Quest - The Hunt PVE - Savage Land/Bullseye III (Level 388/389) Beaten with Level 220 TGT, 110 Cyclops, 94 MMN

The nodes will still be beatable after the nerf. It’s just the outcome is no longer certain. Maybe community scaling will keep the nodes from getting that high in the first place, and if not maybe it’d actually be worthwhile to approach the game carefully instead of just making a beeline to a guaranteed win combo. Sure, some characters like Ares is really cheap, but even against an ultra fast move like Onslaught it is possible to put a meaningful defense which will increase the odds of successfully winning.

Lol, using FT with full AP boost, yeah that really proves your point
