Here we are at Part V. Some of the best movies have a Part V.. Rocky, Friday the 13th.. OK maybe not. However, at this point Part VI will likely be the finale of this reboot, which the ending has been in my head since Part III. Director: What bad news do you have to share today? Hopefully some good news
Community Manager: Well sir, I have some guests! I’d like to introduce you to the Puzzle Warriors 3!
Director: Who??
Community Manager: The Puzzle Warriors man… they have a podcast dedicated to MPQ!
Puzzle Warriors 3: Hi! We’re excited to be here
CFO: What do you want? We have money to make here
Puzzle Warriors 3: Can you tell us about the recent Chasm nerf leak?
Director: BUH BYE!

::Director shines blue and sends the Puzzle Warriors Away::

Community Manager: Was that really necessary?
Director: You’re right……. I forgot you!

::Director shines blue and sends the Community Manager Away::

Director: Now, what was that about Chasm nerf leak?
Developer 2: Well sir as you know we have been working hard to build counters to Chasm and it seems Chasm is actually rebalancing himself in response to our efforts. He is coding himself to drain 4AP
Director: What are we going to do about it?
CFO: Nothing! This will make us a fortune!
Analyst: That’s right. If using the sales from Gambit’s first “nerf”, which was actually a buff, we will have more profit than this time last year
Director: Fine. As long as we are making money. What else is going on?
Community Manager: We rolled out a community contest where we gave players a tiered goal to achieve and earn rewards
Director: Wait.. didn’t I just send you away?
Human Resources: Sir, this is the replacement. I have a new Community Manager starting every week
Director: Fine. What were the rewards?
Community Manager (New): I must say.. it’s hard to communicate to the players when this position is replaced every few days..
Director: Players should be grateful we take time out of our schedule to speak with them.
Community Manager (New): We appreciate that and understand how busy your team is, but it feels like the team is quickly pushing things out that are not working as intended. Perhaps the team can fix some issues like the recent rebalances, such as 5* Magneto, instead of moving to next thing
Developer 2: Chasm won’t let us fix anything..
Community Manager (New): What??
Director: Er.. Just tell me about this contest
Community Manager (New): The players had an opportunity to earn an Infinity Stone upon completing Tier 5! They only completed tier 4 but I predict next run the players will reach it!
CFO: Infinity Stone?? For free?? Be gone!

::Director shines blue and sends the new Community Manager (New) Away::

Developer 1: I guess I shouldn’t mention that we gave away 20+ heroic tokens for the Lightning Round glitch…
CFO: I’ll pretend I did not hear that
Analyst: At least that’s just 19.5 2* covers
Director: Since this meeting is not productive at all, I have something to share.. a deal I made with the big D! ::Shows an upcoming Support::
Developer 2: Sir.. isn’t that..?
Director: That’s right! It’s Genie’s Lamp from Aladdin. This new deal secures us to use D’s other properties! The possibilities are endless! Mwhahaha…..

::Meanwhile in the QPM::

Gambit: We made it
Player: Isn’t this the..
Gambit: The Gauntlet! An event that has not seen action in 4+ years! This will get us what we need to destroy Chasm

::Gambit, Player and Kang (The Conqueror) walk up to the entrance. A shadowy figure appears::

”Shadowy Figure”: What do you seek?
Kang (The Conqueror): The ability to defeat Chasm
”Shadowy Figure”: I see. I was once a Chasm of my time ::uncovers his face::
Kang (The Conqueror): Wiccan?
Player: No, that’s The Hood! Your AP theft made it a challenge to play PVP until you were nerfed and then every character’s health increased.
The Hood: Your memory is strong. It banished me here, guiding others to a treasure I cannot possess.
Kang (The Conqueror): Tell us where it is, then we’ll be on our way
The Hood: If only it were that easy. You must complete Quests to seek for which you came
Gambit: Quests? What do we have to do?
The Hood: You will have five tiers of Quests, each containing a number of requirements in which you must complete. ::Hands Gambit a list::
Gambit: The list just says “Match 50 Green”. Where is the rest of it?
The Hood: You will receive a new Quest when you complete the Quest in which you are given. A Quest for a Quest.
Player: We can make that sacrifice. We will achieve the Quest items as we make our way through the Gauntlet!

::Gambit, Player and Kang (The Conqueror) enters the Gauntlet and starts their first battle::

Match 1: Juggs and two Hand ninjas
Kang (The Conqueror): This will be simple. Gambit give me that free Blue AP
Gambit: I don’t make Blue AP….
Kang (The Conqueror): You mean I have to match Blue myself?
Player: Well actually we need to match 50 Green in order to beat the Quest
Kang (The Conqueror): None of us actually use Green though..
Player: Unfortunately we will just have to match unneeded tiles while also trying to defeat each battle to progress the Gauntlet and beat each Quest
Gambit: We’ll focus on matching Green tiles while I passively make us red and purple AP! ::matches Green::
Juggs: ::Gains free Red AP from Hand Ninjas and Headbutts Gambit::
Gambit: What the heck!
Kang (The Conqueror): Stop complaining! We’ll end this! ::Matches Blue and sends Juggs away::
Player: Kang! We have to match Green to complete this Quest!

::Hours pass by as Gambit gets headbutt repeatedly from Juggs::

Gambit: I’M DONE! ::Ragequits::
Player: What do you mean??
Gambit: Every enemy we face gets free AP from goons. Gambit is done!
Player: ::Laughs:: That’s funny coming from you. Listen we need to beat these Quests. We only need 1 more Green match until the next Quest
Gambit: Fine! ::Matches Green:: There you go. What’s the next Quest
Player: ::Reads next Quest:: Match 50 Yellow
Kang (The Conqueror): We don’t use Yellow either. This is a waste of time!
Gambit: Each battle is becoming more difficult while also needing to match useless tiles to beat these Quests
Player: I have a solution. Those battles can kill us easily because we need to gather useless tiles for the Quests, right?
Kang (The Conqueror): Right. What are you saying?
Player: We stay in the first area… killing boars
Gambit: Boars?
Player: There’s lots of computer-generated boars that die in just one blow.
Kang (The Conqueror): Do you know how many we have to kill to complete the Quests?
Player: Sixty-five million three hundred and forty thousand two hundred and eight five.
Gambit: I got the energy drinks
Kang (The Conqueror): I have Hot Pockets
Player: Let’s get to work!

::Music plays as we watch Gambit and Kang defeat Boar after Boar while collecting Quest items::

Gambit: Are we almost done? It feels like centuries!
Player: Next Quest! ::Reads new Quest:: Match 300 Green tiles
Kang (The Conqueror): Are you serious? What about all the Green we matched against 2-million Boars?
Player: It’s a new set of Green matches…

::Quest items slowly get completed as Sun turns to Moon and Moon turns to Sun::

Kang (The Conqueror): One more tile and we’re done! ::Matches Yellow::
Player: We did it! All Quest items are complete! Now what?

::The Hood appears infront of the group::

The Hood: Great job, except the timer to complete these Quests expired over 4-days ago. Try harder next time ::Disappears::
Gambit: Are you kidding me!?
Player: Now what are we going to do…

::A portal opens in-front of them and a foot steps out::

Kang (The Conqueror): Who is this??
Wong: ::Appears in-front of Group:: I see you are having a bit of trouble
Gambit: How did you get here? Were you nerfed?
Wong: It feels like it sometimes, but I have the ability to send myself Away to PQM. I can help you get to the Player’s world
Player: We can’t. We failed completing the Quests during Gauntlet
Wong: I have something better
Player: The Sword of a Thousand Truths!
Wong: No. It is from an unused Marvel property.. Krull
Player: The Glaive!
Wong: Precisely and you have earned it ::Hands the Glaive support to Player::
Player: Wow ::Reads the description:: This support is blank. What does it even do?
Wong: You cannot use it upon command
Kang (The Conqueror): What good is this?
Wong: You will use it, when you know it is time to use it
Player: What do we do now?
Wong: I discovered something quite interesting. Come with me ::Opens portal::

::Group steps into Portal::

Kang (The Conqueror): Where are we? I don’t think I’ve seen this place
Gambit: Is this Heroics?
Wong: Yes. This is where all the unused Heroic events reside, but what I found something interesting is here. ::Opens door to show a room full of people::
Gambit: Who are these people?
Player: ::Looks around:: Hey! I know that guy over there. He is a Community Manager for MPQ!

Picked up the obvious movie reference from Infinity War Part I.

Loved the player trying to complete the ‘Quests’ bit. That’s exactly how it felt to slog through it.

Well done, Congrats Punisher on a well told adventure, which truly expresses our feelings as Players; hope there will be more to follow

Other than that, brilliant.

Mine too. My experience inspired this episode. I found myself grinding the Quest items during Puzzle Gauntlet and it reminded me of the Warcraft episode from South Park. The frustrating part was I thought the Quest ended at 12pm EST like most MPQ things (e.g., Boss) but it oddly ended at 11am while I literally about to complete the last Quest item. I finished the match and expected to see my reward but instead it was an expired timer.. :frowning:

Did you not get the quest reward anyway?

I know I finished one a couple of days after the event ended when the quest tab magically appeared to allow me to claim the reward (100K ISO). It seems anything in progress was allowed to complete until the vault closed.

That would have been handy! I needed to send 5 more TUs, but quest finished before my heroes had returned.
