The Tedious Pattern of Competitive Gaming

  1. Power players find characters/weapons/gear/tactics that give them a distinct advantage over the competition.

  2. More players aggressively flock to that advantage while other players complain about the competitive imbalance.

  3. Those in charge tweak the rules to address the imbalance.

  4. Players complain that they’ve lost the advantage they worked hard to exploit.

  5. Eventually a new advantage is sought and found.

  6. Repeat.
