I have learned the following:
-
Playing the game hardcore in one sitting (I.e. attacking as many as possible in PvP, grinding out repeatables in PvE, etc.) sets you further behind.
-
Playing casually usually rewards you higher in events.
-
Characters with cheap abilities are the go to characters 99% of the time.
-
Pick and choose your battles carefully, or they will come back and bite you in the @$$.
-
This is not a pay to win game. It is more a pay to gain a slight edge, or pay to achieve something sooner.
What about you guys? Think of anything?
Disclaimer: these are my OPINIONS and what I feel I have seen up to this point. YMMV.

Number 1/2 are wrong.
@1 playing hardcore at the end of PvP events is the BEST way to score well. Same with pve. It’s about being smart and picking your times
@2 casually, truly casually, will net you a bad score.
I agree with the other 3.

Agreed. PvP, playing a lot in one stretch is the only way to get the good progression rewards (which is like half of PvP).
And, yeah, you have to play something like 2-3 hours a day to be truly optimal, which is out of casual range.
