tldr; something, something, really is finally time to leave folks

Like many of you, got completely screwed this morning. Was rank #3 in plat as of 1am, came in at 13th due to the spinny circle of death when I woke up. Could I please have that time back grinding for a terrible dup rare? Been playing since February and really tried to be patient against all reason otherwise for this company. It could not be more clear at this point that they’re inept and, more importantly, don’t give a fuck. I don’t need to duplicate what’s been already said repeatedly ad infinitum in so many other posts. Has there been an event in recent memory that wasn’t plagued with server issues or the client somehow locking up? Bug list a lightyear long, zero regression testing, total lack of comms, horrible matchmaking, pack opening RNG issues, card dups, possibly worst IAP prices in the P2W/freemium game industry, server issues, client issues, color mastery is a failure, etc etc. If the goal was to push players away, well done, mission accomplished!

The debacle that happened this morning was the last straw for me personally. Usually I rage for a bit and then want to jump back in. I think I’m out though this time. As of now as a first step, I at least took the icon off my home screen. This game has become a complete fucking joke and I have so many better things I could be doing than dealing with the utmost incompetence. Devs, you really fucked this great game up. Glad to see Brigby at least being more communicative than his predecessor and actually trying to finally engage with the community, but 1) it’s sadly somewhat a case of too little, too late, and 2) it’s pretty obvious the devs don’t care about our feedback anyway. If I were a dev on this game and I spent an hour looking through the bug and suggestion forums, I would be ashamed of myself. In its present state with current management, I cannot fathom wanting to play this game again now.

At the core I love this game. It’s an addictive match 3, with a surprisingly crunchy strategy layer that is based on one of my favorite IPs.

Most importantly I don’t have to sink continuous time into the game. I’m really busy and Hearthstone, MtG Duels, etc don’t have the ability to pause. Between events and quick battles I probably put as much time into this game, but it is easier to integrate into normal life. I love it.

None of the problems you described have to do with the core game. It’s all self inflicted by D3 surrounding prices, policies and support. If they wanted to they could build a positive community and a game that grows to be huge.

I’m not going to quit because I have fun with the game every single day, but I’m not spending any more cash for a while.

I feel you on this. I have come close several times to quitting. I do love this game and the dedicated and passionate community though so I had to make the decision to stop buying their overpriced iap and now I have stepped down from competitive play. Leaving my coalition was an extremely difficult decision but I can no longer take this game seriously while it feels like a beta version. I am not ready to quit because i know how great this game can be but I will continue to slowly back out until I’m given reason to believe things will get better

I like the game. It is fun. Try to be objective, give the dev team the benefit of the doubt, look at the bright side, be patient. But at some point the disappointments have added up and simply cannot be ignored. I feel foolish being optimistic…

The game can definitely be fun, but the problems (to me) outweigh the fun. It’s the same reason I quit too.
