Just wondering why this forum’s editor doesn’t work in standard ways. It doesn’t behave as expected, causing me to have to remove my hands from the keyboard, to use the mouse.

Ctrl + left arrow should move 1 word backwards in the text. Add Shift key and it should select that word (makes altering your text much quicker and easier).

But this non-standard editor responds to Ctrl+arrow by going to the beginning or end of a line. Pretty useless functionality so I don’t even get why you choose this over standardized controls…

This has been annoying me for ages.

[edit] Wait, I’ve just noticed that the forum functionality has changed recently, and now Ctrl+<- and Ctrl+Shift+<- DO perform as you describe! I’ve tried it in a few browsers, and they all work that way! Is this a brand new change? Does it work the same for you?

No, it’s still set to the entire line, rather than the individual word, for me.

It drives me crazy.

Ok, after testing, it works PROPERLY in Chrome.
It does NOT work properly in Firefox.
