DST finally switched off and moved back into British Summer Time last night and wondered how the differences and time zones affected everyone. I think it’s the first time I can recall a season ending shortly after, and a boss event in the gap.
I found the boss event much easier to manage. An 8am/4pm/12am reset worked well for me and better than the usual 9am/5pm/1am.
PvE was a pain though: either a 9pm (slice 3) or 3am (slice 4) made it a bit harder to play and win.
PvP was broadly the same as I normally shield the last 8 hours or so.
I’m in the UK and it’s not too bad. For the boss events, I do prefer the 12am reset because it means I’m not staying up as late lol - but there’s always a little jolt when I forget that the clocks change and my brain goes from “no presh, I’ve got just over an hour to finish these nodes before they reset” to “OH SHIITAKE ACTUALLY I HAVE JUST 12 MINUTES”
Also, am I wrong, or does DST actually switch ON for the summer? I seem to remember somewhere that BST is technically “UTC/GMT +1”
I guess I’m in the minority in this very small group so far, in that I do my boss event clears in the morning rather than staying up until midnight / 1am. So for me the time change was not good because it meant waking up a bit earlier at the weekend to play before 8am.
For regular PVE, 10pm works quite nicely for me but I did surprise myself by actually remembering to do my clears at 9pm for the last 3 weeks. I am very glad it’s back to normal now though.
