Tournament Idea

I proposed a challenge to our coalition because I was bored and had completed Chandra’s Lame Challenge. Complete Chandra’s 4th challenge with the worst deck possible: scored 5 points for a common, 2 points for an uncommon, -2 for a rare, -5 for a mythic.

Not 5 minutes goes by and we had someone announce that they had done Chandra 4 with 5 commons, 4 uncommons, and 1 rare using Tezzeret!

This got me thinking about a fun tournament idea that would be completely different than what we’ve been doing. Give infinite tries on a node where you get points on a leaderboard as I indicated. The points don’t add you just get a different score if you do it with a worse deck. The event runs for 48-72 hours.

That would be fun and really get the coalitions working on a problem to solve.

What do you think?

Sounds pretty good, definitely something that normal people (not hardcores like us) and newbs can do. Definitely something worth trying, maybe not as a coalition event at first.

Lol that’s kind of funny, because I was using cards I was trying to master to fight with, once I had all the points.

I’d be curious to see that Tezzeret deck!

The J2 I used to run for EC looked like this:
Artificers epiphany
Ongoing investigation
Anchor to the aether
Jhessian thief
Daring sleuth
Tamiyos journal
Yavimaya coast
Disperse
Eldrazi skyspawner
Eternal scourge

Just tale out eternal scourge and eldrazi skyspawner for any uncommon/common and you have a 1 rare 0 mythic J2 deck!

(Yes I know it’s not tezz, just thought I’d share this anyway. By the way I used this deck without having Jace maxed, so it works at whatever level really. Just use the usual J2 tactic, stall and control, ultimate, win.)

This is the Tezzeret deck he used:

Claustrophobia
Artificer’s Epiphany
Rush of Ice
Tezzeret’s Ambition
Sky Skiff

Anchor to the Ether
Chilling Grasp
Tower Geist
Aberrant Researcher

Imprisoned in the Moon

it can probably be done using a sorin deck with no rares but a
couple more uncommons.
or sarkhan deck.
