Some characters can be ignored in the game, at least for awhile. They might have big attacks, but they won’t matter in the first few turns. Some characters must be paid attention to from the first move.
In olden days, it was Rags and CStorm. Attacking anyone but CStorm was deadly. If a weak character was put in front, with CStorm lurking in back, accidentally doing just a tile match could wipe out your team. Similarly, Rags could be overwhelming if he got a supply of red and green. Both Rags and CStorm got nerfed.
More recently, Spiderman was the unignorable one. If he got a blue supply, he could become overwhelming. He’s now been nerfed.
OBW, Hulk, Hood, and Daredevil are the new unignorable ones. All four have managed to trip me up in a match when I haven’t paid attention.
OBW’s purple can be devastating if she’s allowed to get it. She’s my #1 target.
Hood will be a drain. Environment tiles are your friends when facing the Hood. Focus on one color.
Hulk mostly just needs careful planning before launching any major attacks against him. He’s always my last target.
Daredevil – if he sets traps, avoid those colors.
MStorm in the desert or jungle – don’t ignore her. (EDIT – added this one).
Most of the other “finisher” characters — Black Panther (12), BWGS (15), LCap (11), Human Torch (8), CMags(10), LThor (12, 14), Patch (14), Boosted Ares (10, 5, 10), Boosted Juggs — it’s a matter of denying those colors, or being prepared for a high level attack.
With Spiderman gone, I’ve noticed a lot more of OBW, Hulk, and Hood.
Other characters can be classified as abrasive – they will hurt you, but not kill you. Punisher, Daken, Psylocke, Ragnarok. EDIT: I think I’d classify Human Torch somewhere between Finisher and Abrasive.
