As per usual with previews, this client update will be coming soon but some features may change and we may be able to sneak in some additional changes.
Gameplay
S.H.I.E.L.D. has introduced new Tokens for Hawkeye (Classic) and Black Widow (Modern) for the use of Agents in the Prologue. These tokens replace the Hero Point reward used to recruit these heroes so that Agents don’t accidentally spend that Hero Point stipend elsewhere and find themselves unable to continue training.
Events
Black Widow has finally rooted out the mole responsible for destroying the history of recent Events and Tournaments in which Agents have competed. The final standings will now be available for any finished Event or Tournament for a time after its completion.
Thanks to Black Widow’s efforts, Agents can keep retired Event Tokens after an event ends. Event Tokens will no longer be replaced with Heroic Tokens!
Alliances
A new type of Daily Reward has been implemented as a way to entice Agents to join Alliances. Each day, other active Agents will contribute Iso-8 to a fund that will be delivered to Alliance members.
Pending applicants to an Alliance are now not able to chat with Alliance members. This prevents unscrupulous Agents from creating dummy accounts to spy on rival Alliances.
UI
(Android Only) S.H.I.E.L.D. has fixed issues with some Android devices being unable to enter text in the new Alliance Chat feature.
Agents bearing low spec devices such as an iPhone 4 may get a warning when starting the game stating that their experience may be substandard. This is only a warning, it does not change the user experience for these Agents.
S.H.I.E.L.D. code hackers have once again improved communications, enabling HQ to send out messages larger than a single screen. Any text box with information that would take an extra screen, such as the MotD, is now scrollable.
Not at the second. Last followup we had internally everything was fine. A couple of the data servers use Amazon services but there isn’t any communications or RAM storage on them that would be worthwhile to anyone. A malicious hacker would be able to see that yes, in fact, IceIX just requested and received the data for the Bad is Good event and the results of that search are thusly.
I see from that linked thread that supposedly we’re non compliant somewhere though, so I’ll double check. It shouldn’t be coming up in any case since those cloud services were fixed by Amazon, so I’m not sure what’s up. Best to be safe.
Doesn’t get rid of the screen. Just makes it so that we don’t get users that get 50 Hero Points in the Tutorial, spend them on something like Health Packs or a Heroic Cover Pack then get stuck since the game requires them to buy one of those two characters.
Nuts. That screen always annoyed me b/c it meant some poor sap is gonna waste HP on a cover that he’s going to sell so many copies of in the reasonably near future.
The event tokens not converting to regular heroics concerns me too. If you have Captain America fully covered and he’s the only 3* available for the token, it’s a wasted pull. At least if it converts to a heroic you have a chance of getting a cover you need.
This is true, but we get far more CS complaints that users lost their special tokens or now can’t use them for the pack they wanted than the relatively few power gamer/min-maxers that specifically wait post event to turn in “sub-standard” tokens.
I can definitely understand that and I can see where that would be a major pain for CS to deal with. Still, maybe something could be implemented (eventually) to allow the conversion of event tokens to heroic tokens?
Weird. I always would have thought the more casual people would snap crack the token the second they got it. I know I do usually, cant wait to see that 2* cap. At least with the new animations I am actually disappointed less overall because I know its a 2 or a 3 off the bat.
What I imagine this fixes is the end rewards from subs where you get the tokens sometime the next day or don’t play for a few days and come back to an ended event.
But that also fixes the need for standard heroics at the last subs for events right? They can now be event tokens? That is a bonus generally.
