Currently, it is possible to activate minus abilities of Vanguards even if they have less shields than the activation cost of their ability.
This should not be possible.

@wildrage - which card(s) allow this? I have just finished my AJTH using vanguard Ob Nixilis where I did not have the option to use the ability or at least the button was grayed out so I thought I couldn’t use the ability.
So could you please give more information?
Today, AI activated Samut 3 turns in a row to give a creatue +2/+1 and Double Strike when Samut only starts with 5 shields and her ability is -2.
I’ve seen the same from Tibalt and Kasmina.
@WiLDRAGE - thanks for the update. So it is Greg that is abusing the vanguards, that is annoying and consistent with my experience.

I’m still seeing this happening as well. Greg is able to activate vanguard abilities with less than enough “loyalty” or whatever it’s called in MTGPQ. I’ve seen this with multiple vanguard supports.
This is still happening.
I have just experienced this error with vanguard Ugin standard version. Greg could destroy my vanguard with only 2 shields. Effect costs 3 shields.
In my experience, Greg can use the ability if there is at least 1 shield count on their vanguard, regardless of cost.
