I don’t know if there’s another thread like this out there, but in a cursory glance at the forums, I didn’t find one.
I thought it might be interesting to look at the rate of occurrence of various color combinations. Given that PvP and essential PvE nodes only give you the freedom to pick 2 heroes, being able to cover all 6 colors with just 2 heroes is a nice advantage when you can manage it. This list is current as of the release of Professor X. There are 20 possible combinations of 3. They are listed below with the number of heroes that have that combination.

Right off we can see that 2 combinations ( ![]()
![]()
![]()
and ![]()
![]()
![]()
) don’t have any heroes, and 3 more ( ![]()
![]()
![]()
, ![]()
![]()
![]()
, and ![]()
![]()
![]()
) only have 1 each (Psylocke, Doctor Octopus, and Squirrel Girl if you’re curious). Also, you see a few good combinations. For instance, if you’re looking for a ![]()
![]()
![]()
to pair with a ![]()
![]()
![]()
then you’ve got 6 choices on both sides. The same is true for ![]()
![]()
![]()
and ![]()
![]()
![]()
. However, one notable disparity is that there are 5 ![]()
![]()
![]()
but (as mentioned above), not a single ![]()
![]()
![]()
. So, if you’re starting with ![]()
![]()
![]()
(Luke Cage, Colossus, Cyclops, Captain Marvel), it’s going to take 2 more characters to cover every color. The other 0 only has 2 “opposites” (Ragnarok and She-Hulk), so it isn’t as large a disparity.
Thoughts?
TL;DR - We need some ![]()
![]()
![]()
and ![]()
![]()
![]()
heroes, emphasis on the ![]()
![]()
