What are you waiting for?

I’m waiting for everyone else to leave so I can turn out the lights.

Yep, that was the first straw for me when tie breakers weren’t introduced and I would lose mythic prizes to cheaters who could finish all nodes in 5 minutes. Not to mention the final refresh at 4:00 AM EST, which wasn’t worth the effort anyway.

2nd huge straw was the austerity package that ruined the competitive vibe of the game.

I have been trying to hold on since then with the bone-headed misconception that they would see the error in their ways. We have a great group of guys in our coalition and affiliates and I really didn’t want to abandon them even if the game was losing its luster.

Being a dedicated player in the best coalition in the game does give me a lot of ties to the game. I have spent quite a bit of money and it feels like I am throwing it away to leave the game. But, like it or not… we have seen 2 exceptional players quit in the last 2 days. Anyone who thinks these are idle threats are just deluding themselves. The game is dying… and not slowly.

dadwren.

Aw man redacted finally quit? He was a great guy. I really liked being coalition mates with him

Relatively new player here. Assuming that wasn’t an exaggeration, how could someone cheat to clear all nodes in 5 minutes? That doesn’t seem possible in a game like this.

It was possible by using an unofficial version of the game client. This was a violation of the game’s ToS and it appears that the player has since been banned.

It’s also a huge exaggeration because the average game speed using the hack was a minute and a half.

I want to say this is censorship gone insane? Are you also going to go back through all those posts talking about killwind and merciside and delete their names too brigby?

We have had incidents in the past where players/coalitions had their names revealed against their wishes, and/or players were making false accusations of others in order to start a witch-hunt. The reason we employ censorship techniques like these is to protect players from incurring harassment from others.

Keep in mind that posts with player names are still allowed, they just simply require express permission. (If they have forum names, @mentioning them is a great way to ensure the player is permitting this reference)

If I remember correctly, those threads were not edited, because they had already been buried prior to the new forum rule being added, therefore we deemed it unnecessary to take such action.

I understand the rule. I’m just hoping we try to apply some common sense and see where that takes us.

I mean, you don’t want to spend all your time editing innocent posts. For example, you missed mine where I mentioned redacted and redacted.

Heh, I remember when we used to care about cheaters. [Redacted] even came back recently, didn’t he? But no-one really cares about who’s at the top of the leaderboards any more.

Does this not mean the game will die? Whales aren’t going to drop $100 regularly on a fun mobile app.

Yeah after opening 6 premium packs over the last month and getting only one rare aside from the guaranteed and all were dupes but one. I am good. Its pay day to day. But not for puzzle quest. At least not from me. I’ve learned my lesson.

I have no idea how many dupes i have hoarded and i have a feeling ill be done period before they are useful. Story mode was a big missed opportunity. Quick battle removal is a big mistake.

Seems they like shooting themselves in the foot.

Well one can pretty much guarantee that the whales aren’t spending on a boring mobile app. So which one is it?

They’ll spend it on a deeper game that encourages them to play more.

If you’ve been following the thread, then you’ll see that it’s been suggested that people will enjoy the game more if they play less and take it less seriously in order to have ‘fun’; I’m suggesting that isn’t the type of game that people want to drop big money on.

I see a second bracket hasn’t opened up for HoD yet today. I wonder where all those players went?

Hi @shteev, where do you see the brackets?

A second bracket opened up close to the cut off for max possible score, as one would expect.

Not sure why you feel that’s telling, since the new way ranks are calculated have removed the time factor in joining/playing events.

It’s literally what you expect to see. The pressure to join early has shifted to a pressure to join as late as possible.

@rafalele there’s no way to tell unless you’re consolidating data from others in the game to see when a bracket flips.

You don’t think there’s been a drop off in participation then?

Actually, the suggestion is that players were taking it too far in their mantra that they must absolutely play every charge in every event. The irony is that they are ruining the experience for themselves. The solution for them is to dial it back and stop overdoing it. The 4-hour vs. 8-hour charge nonsense is the perfect example. Because you HAVE to play every charge, don’t you? (Here’s a hint: you don’t)

How you get from my point to your conclusion is, ironically, not very logical.

I’m not sure. If you have access to data that reflects this, please share.

As far as I can remember, platinum has had 2 brackets starting before max potential nodes capped in 3k brackets for about a year now.
