Depends. When I want to be done quickly, a 2* Widow and Hood combination is pretty unpleasant. When I’m not that worried about that, maxed out Sentry and Patch, because they do a huge lot of damage (and I only have one single character maxed).
Usually I try to line up my team so it works best with the opposing team (like Spidey or Magneto against Hulk, but no Daken against Hulk bc his strike tiles will trigger Hulk’s Anger with ever single match).
Above a certain point I won’t bother skipping any team that’s worth at least 30 points (above like 800 that often becomes “I won’t bother skipping any team worth above 25”).
But in a scenario like SHIELD Training where there’s plenty of choice among teams worth lots of points, I would be most likely to skip something like max Hood, max LazyThor and max 3* Daken, just because of the likelihood that it does something to really hurt my team before I can kill it.
Max Hood, Max OBW and max LazyThor is probably the team I’d guess as most likely to get a lucky board and kill me (with the help of AP drains) before I can kill them, but if it doesn’t get those lucky purple matches dropping in then it’s not going to do the damage that the Hood-Thor-Daken team will do.
I attack anyone if points are good, and wipe sometimes spectacularly due to characters not being at full health, characters being a bad match against the defenders (e.g. try not to take Hood against any LDaken teams, he can’t stand the abuse if he tanks 2-3 colours), plain arrogance (Hulk? Patch with 5 green? Pfft!), etc.
Almost any combo that doesn’t consist of worst characters can take you by surprise. I had a hard time recently against a Daken (two-star one) team with my maxed 3*s, I think.
Did they quit or rage quit? I remember a thread (probably already removed) where Tooth Fairy complained about true healing and then I’ve not seen or heard about her/him. And Santa had a hard time to adapt at all to this game since we get so rarely gifts at all. That “thanks for early patching” gift was just cruel and got his hopes up. And nobody told Santa about that red Sentry cover node in PvE…
OBW, Ares, Pun. Any 2 of the three in the lineup gives me reason to pause. Not because they are particularly scary, but that they can do a lot of damage to my team quickly, which seems to happen much too frequently.
