Everybody is excited about the return of Enemy of the State, but way back in 2019, when I was still learning how the game works, I remember an event featuring the Avengers and Dark Avengers racing to capture/rescue the Hulk. That event traumatized me because I irresponsibly attempted to play SCL 6 for the first time and everything beyond the 3 easy nodes was just too tough for my roster, so I didn’t get to enjoy the event fully.
And I never saw that event happen again. Anybody remembers what I’m talking about?
It’s literally called ‘The Hulk’. Both the Avengers and Dark Avengers try and get the Hulk to join their side. The list at this link hasn’t been updated for the recent PvEs but shows all the older retired ones like ‘The Hulk’
It’s a 7 day PvE which is why it hasn’t been run in years. But now that they are reviving Enemy of the State, another 7 day PvE there is a chance we may get this one again too.
I don’t remember the 7 day events being too bad. I was always pleased with getting to the 50 CP (as it was) point in progression because it meant 2 pulls. Think that was normally on day 5 of 7 of The Hulk.
Hulk was like looking for Bigfoot. After several days of “sightings” you finally find him and discover you’ve been had. Of course it will have a totally new award structure these days and the CN and 5E may be interesting but far too much Dark Avengers otherwise. Bleh.

Yeah, I preferred the Brotherhood above Hulk and Prodigal Son. In fact, I’d put Hulk last of the 4. But I am looking forward to playing them all again! Will make a nice change.
Hulk was the one that had a global bracket. This was before time slices existed. Every player was on the same bracket, and placement rewards were extended massively (I think #1 rewards went to top 100 or something?).
It also had 12-hour subs.
The global bracket is something they should really think about bringing back – it makes no sense to reward players for sniping late brackets, and a lot of times a #1 score in one full bracket would be #10 or #15 in a different one.

Was that the one with the global points goal? I vaguely remember that. It was a looong time ago though.

One bracket per time slice, ok.
If they do away with time slices, I’ll quit immediately.
I did my share of 6am finishes. Never again.
Nah, you’d choose your time slice but everyone is in the same bracket. Placement rewards get handed out to everyone only after s5 ends.
The number of points you earn in PvE doesn’t depend on which slice you choose – every slice has the same theoretical maximum. It’s not like PvP where you can accidentally score 3000 in s1 vs struggling to 900 in s2 or 5.
If that’s the case then we don’t need slices at all. Just let players start whenever and that timestamps their 24 hr sub start time. No more complaints about slice times that don’t work for you because you pick the start time.

This is a pretty great idea. It’d probably be too much work for them with too little benefit, but it would solve a lot of problems. They’d get flack from certain circles but it’d be positive overall for the vast majority.
