Here are the upcoming events planned for July 2026. For those of you who have been around for a while, you may spot a familiar name in the PVE Events list: PRODIGAL SUN. Last seen in 2019, PRODIGAL SUN has been brought up to code and is the first of our lost events returning back into rotation as a 4-Day event.

We’re hoping that digging into our trove of long-missing events can add more variety and fresh activity to your daily play so stay tuned as we smash through the archives to see what events can make their way back into the game after a long hiatus!

What's New MPQ - July 2026

Prodigal Sun is great! Any event that’s not just wall-to-wall Dark Avengers is definitely appreciated. Can’t wait to see who you guys put in the Challenge nodes!

(If you haven’t been around for that long, Prodigal Sun was HATED because it was so much harder than every other PvE. It’s basically the only one where you play as the villains, so the enemies are mostly heroes, and they’re just much better than the Daken/Bullseye fodder we normally fight.)

Agreed. All we can do is hope they split it into 2 parts, a 3 day event and a 4 day event that covers the entire story.

It would have made even more sense to bring back Prodigal Sun with a release of a 5 star (or 6 star) Sentry!

Did the rewards for Simulator get misplaced and moved to Prodigal Sun instead? Simulator is on the schedule as the next event after Honor Among Thieves. Normally the placement rewards from the previous event are the progression rewards in the next event. Nothing is listed for Simulator, but PS shows the placement rewards from HAT as its progression rewards.

Nice to see the return of Prodigal Sun to the game! If this is the devs’ solution to addressing rewards in a 7-day event, I suppose nerfing it to a 4-day event is the lesser of two evils. If the other 7-day events (Enemy of the State, Iso-8 Brotherhood, The Hulk) can get the same treatment, please bring them back as well. More variety of PVE events is definitely welcomed.

The times are in PST (GMT -08:00), not EST (GMT -05:00).

I actually prefer Pacific time over Eastern time. It keeps the days listed on the schedule consistent, cleaner and simple… compared to the overlap that occurs in the last slice which carries over to the next day when using Eastern time (S5 ends at 2 AM ET).

Edit: Technically, we’re in Daylight Saving Time at the moment so it’s currently PDT (GMT -07:00).

If the rumors are true and the next 5★ character is Longshot, I really hope Longshot isn’t designed as just another damage dealer. His defining trait in the comics has never been raw power—it’s probability manipulation. His “luck” isn’t magic; it’s the world bending in his favor through incredibly unlikely events. I’d love to see that translated into gameplay through unique passive mechanics: random AP gains, unexpected Critical Tiles, lucky escapes, or low-probability effects that can completely change the flow of a match. That would make Longshot feel truly different instead of just another character with bigger numbers. If Mojo represents control and scripting every outcome, Longshot should represent chaos and unpredictable probability. That contrast would stay true to the comics and create a brand-new archetype for MPQ.
